It is easier to do well in quant, so focus on it. Follow the youtube videos and articles of GMATNinja for the verbal section. Take a full-length test once in a fortnight or moth. Do more challenging questions from your preferred materials from the link below:

Hello TheUltimateWinner, I have studied from Jamboree material that my friend gave to me. I also have access to the portal with sectional tests and Full length tests as well.

I am currently not working so I can dedicate all my hours to GMAT. I have studied OG and done all the questions but the methods that I follow are of Jamboree.
Accuracy for Easy Questions: 100% (CR, SC, RC)
Accuracy for Medium Questions: 30-50% (RC) 40-50% (SC) 40% (CR)
Accuracy for Hard Q: Almost 0% (RC) 10% (SC), 10% CR

My recent score was V23, Q39.
I am pretty consistent with my Quant score but verbal keeps fluctuating between 21-27.

My stud plan: I practice the wrong Q from test during day, try to give a sectional too. And try to focus on weak points.
At night, I give my mock tests!
One of my friend is using Jamboore. She is continuously getting closed to 350 in her official mock test every time! So, it seems that you're in wrong way. Your concept both in quant and verbal is not good at all for sure. You should brush your concept, maybe. Here you go for a link which definitely will help you to get a good score in quant part.

And you must watch categorize video from 'Thursdays with Ron' from you tube. It will definitely help you.

Hello Damini,

GMAT club is one of the great platforms to get information about the GMAT official test, Study plan, Section wise instructions, and many more.

Your current GMAT score is shaky. You can schedule a Free counseling(https://calendly.com/mathrevolution/1-on-1-session) session for 20 mins with one of our experts to have detailed advice on your current study plans

A couple of things that can be a noticeable barrier to your scores would be some or all of the below.

• Lack of basic math skills
• Not detailed knowledge of GMAT Math pattern and Question types
• Inefficiency by using time-consuming Conventional method to tackle DS and PS questions still
• No expert support (maybe) who can tutor, analyze, and guide you during your learning
• Lack of many updated questions and practice in the recent exam trend
• Not well aligned with time to solve questions.

Precisely, there has to be one end-to-end solution encompassing all the points mentioned above. We also want to understand your approach for solving PS and DS questions. In next week, you can try our free diagnostic test https://www.mathrevolution.com/diagnostic/dtExamMember and receive a comprehensive study guide by topic. This test will clearly help you understand your weak areas.

Your study plan will now change as you are already ready with the vital concepts and their application. The diagnostic test report will give us detailed insight into various topics and your performance. After an in-depth analysis, we will draw out the category of the topics in which you are already better and those where you need more improvement. Also, we will be able to compare your performance while solving the PS and DS questions

Also, make a note of various possible combinations to achieve a score of 700 or 700+. The possible scores will help you track your performance after taking the mock or practice test. It will also help you maintain balance in both the sections, and you will always be in a great position to allot the study hours to a specific area accordingly.

The possible score combinations for 700 or 700 +: Q should be Q 46, 47, 48, and V should be V38, 39, 40.

We recommend that you must learn the Variable Approach for solving DS questions and the IVY approach for solving PS questions in order to improve your accuracy and save time while solving the question types.

The most important for you will be learning and commanding the Variable Approach for DS questions and IVY Approach for PS questions. These approaches are the robust self-designed time-saving techniques that will help you learn efficiently, thus raising your score in the quick nick of time.

Hi, I have been preparing for GMAT for three months now, but now that I started giving my mock tests, I am not able to get the desired results. Although I have done MANY questions, understood the concepts, my score seems to be stuck.

How can I improve?

Hi Damini,

You are putting in so much effort but that is not directed in the right direction. Preparation when not done in the right way does not fetch you results, no matter how hard you do it. So, it is high time that you change your approach. Let me guide you here.

What is the flaw in your approach?

Till now you have been approaching your prep in a particular way.
  • Learn the concepts
  • Practice questions
  • If you make mistakes, practice more and more questions

This is the most common mistake students do in their early stages of preparation because they don't really know what is actually tested on GMAT. GMAT is a test of application of concepts. So, apart from the concepts, you need to have strong application skills which help you solve GMAT questions with ease. So, when you jump into solving questions directly after learning concepts, you are missing out the most important step which is learning the methodology.

The right way to do the prep is:

  • Learn the concepts (Deal with one topic at a time)
  • Learn the methodology to solve questions of that topic
  • Solidify your learning by practicing a few questions (Do not time yourself during this stage)
  • Take timed quizzes to get used to time constraint

Repeat this process for every topic and once you are done with all the topics, start taking mocks. Having said that, I suggest you to make a proper study with clear deadlines to follow the process I mentioned above. Having a proper study plan will help you strategize your prep in an effective way. If you need any help in making a study plan, you can sign up for the free trial of GMATWhiz and get your personalized study plan for free.

Hope it helped! If you wish to know more about the study strategy or have any queries related to prep, feel free to get in touch using the below link.
