Tibetan rugs are so expensive because the weaver still pursues his art as they have for centuries, by hand-dyeing all their wool and then knotting each thread individually to achieve a unique pattern for each piece.

In statement if u read it carefully after cenuries, by hand dyeing all their wool and then knotting each thread -so subject here is plural

(A) the weaver still pursues his art as they have -use of singular weaver is incorrect here
(B) the weaver still pursues his art as he has -use of singular he is incorrect here
(C) weavers still pursue their art as they have- correct OA
(D) weavers still pursue their art as was done- missing pronoun before was done
(E) the weaver still pursues his art as has been done - use of has been incorrect as subject is plural

The answer here seems to be C. Although, B is a choice in line with the correctness of the question, but C seems more logical.

Tibetan rugs are so expensive because the weaver still pursues his art as they have for centuries, by hand-dyeing all their wool and then knotting each thread individually to achieve a unique pattern for each piece.

(A) the weaver still pursues his art as they have
-the weaver is singular so pronoun "they" should be singular. Also use of" Have" which is plural is incorrect . So Eliminate A

(B) the weaver still pursues his art as he has
- Correct - singular weaver is correctly matched with pronoun He and verb Has is correct.

(C) weavers still pursue their art as they have
- Though Pronoun matches with plural weavers. Use of "they" becomes ambiguous . It leads to confusion whether it is referring to weavers or Tibetan Rugs. Compared to C , option B is more Clear. So Eliminate C

(D) weavers still pursue their art as was done
- " as was done" is awkward and grammatically incorrect. So eliminate D

(E) the weaver still pursues his art as has been done
- " as has been done by whom?? this creates ambiguity, pronoun or subject required for providing clarity in meaning. So Eliminate E

Ans Choice B

Dream it! Achieve it! All the best to everyone

Pronouns should have a logical antecedent. Here, they can only refer to Weavers. So C is correct.

Official Explanation

(A) is incorrect because it switches from the singular (“weaver,” “his”) to the plural (“they”). Changing this segment to all singular, as in (B), would not tie in with “their wool” later in the sentence.

So it is better to change all references to the plural, as in (C). (D) and (E) unpleasantly switch from the personal active to the impersonal passive.

The correct answer is (C).
