I applied right at the round 2 deadline and heard back about admission 1/22. It looks like there are a few other admissions logged for round 2 as well. It seems they're more flexible than other programs on this.

Did you have some sort of special circumstances? What was the reason that they gave you a decision 7 weeks early?

Of course NO. lol
I asked for an application fee waiver, and they encouraged me to make the score 700+ so that they can grant me a fee waiver based on academic competence.

lol  you didn't mention the fee waiver bit. That's why I was so confused.

Thanks jb22201. I hope mine case will go fast as well. So have you decided to join Owen this summer?
I have not decided on a program yet. I live in Missouri and have an Olin admit with small scholarship, so that's appealing since it would be a close move. Waiting to hear back from a few more schools as well.

I did not have any special circumstances. I told them during my interview I would probably only visit schools I was admitted to due to travel constraints with my job. My theory was they wanted to get the admission delivered in time for me to attend the Discover Weekend in February.

That's extremely accommodating. 10 day turn around on applications would save a lotttt of anxiety

The adcom may be flexible in decision when you look like potential candidates. I applied in R1 and submitted my application 2 weeks before deadlines. Received interview invitation 2 days after (even at that time my recommenders havent submitted LoRs) and receive admission call 1 day before notification day.
So my advice: make sure you are well prepared for interview even the invite is yet to come. dont know when your luck come,

I had my interview two weeks ago. My point is he got a decision almost 2 months before the decision date... I've never heard of anything like that. You got a decision one day before the decision date. That's fairly normal practice.

Is the scholarship from Owen not big enough for you to decide? I got scholarship (not too good) from Olin too, but it is still very difficult for me to matriculate at this point. I hope thing will be better for Owen since application for Owen is much better than for Olin.

Greeting from a Vietnamese too. Your results so far are so great and inspiring! Have you decided on which schools? It seems that you won't be in Nashville, right?

Whoa interesting. how come they released your decision so early instead of waiting until March 15? It seems rolling? When did you interview?

When did you submit the application? And when were you interviewed? Skype or in-person?
Congratulations on your admit!

I don't get it either. That makes two people so far that have received decisions 5 and 7 weeks early. Where do I sign up?? lol

From my understanding, they are trying to get a few out of the way due to the high volume of applicants for R2. I interviewed on 1/14/16 in person since I live in Tennessee and submitted by app around 12/26/15. I didn't make any suggestions that I needed a decision early or anything like that.

That's great turn around time! Regarding the high volume of applicants, did they tell you that over the phone or via email? Or are you speculating as to why they released your decision early? I interviewed about two weeks ago. Would be nice if I did not have to wait another 5+ weeks for my decision haha. The anxiety is real! Congrats on your admit.

It was told to me over the phone. I got a call to tell me about the admit and the scholarship then a subsequent email to explain it in more detail
