That definitely implies those of us waiting are in a sort or “pre waitlist” while they look at the R4 and offer top R4 applicants then fill in with what’s left with us long waiters...
im wondering why they dont just put a button on this and waitlist candidates, rather than have them wait cluelessly

Maybe they want those people to actually stay hanging cuz they are really trying to play their numbers and might need them. I know for the two schools I actually got waitlisted at I immediately declined their offer and withdrew my application. So...:/
The adcom committee has not met for 2 weeks now. We arent waitlisted because the committee hasn't even yet discuss our application as a whole, looks like we all just got interviewed and looked at by 1-2 adcom members.

How do you that they havent met? And if so, how are they making decisions regarding R4 invites?
To the class of 2021 reading this thread next year, it is clear you must apply Round 1, else face the risk of getting stuck im some sort of limbo state.
