Enquiry about IIM INDORE EPGP AND IIM UDAIPUR PGPX for 2019

Question

Dear All,

I am Rajesh from Delhi , India, have 10 years of experience in software industry as a test engineer (QA)
I am B.Tech in Electronics 2007 passout with 65 %.
10 th : 65 %
12th : 64 %

I scored 650 on GMAT.

I have tried asking many people but not getting any proper repsonse. I think GMATCLUB is the best platform where my queries can be addressed by experts.

1) With 10 years of experience and 650 on GMAT, am i good to go with application for IIM Indore EPGP and IIM Udaipur PGPX?
2) Does IIM Udaipur ask for essay submissions as it is no where mentioned in their website?

Thanks for the reply , but i have already gone through enough materials available on internet but cudnt get a proper post, article or relevant stuff.
Tried reaching out to the institute also where i took classes for GMAT but they too are not helping me.(Seems they are interested only in taking fees and teaching the crap which i later realised cud have done on my own as well)
Dont know where to go, what to do. Totally clueless.
Will be really nice if someone can from this forum help me.

I just want to know that with below profile, can i dream of converting IIM U and IIM I?

650 is very less score for IIM, your 10th, 12th and graduation marked are also less as compared to numbers of students apply to IIM.

I will recommend to try 2nd attempt for GMAT and score at least 700+

Thanks for your reply.

I am very poor at verbal and have been preparing for GMAT from past one year.
I have joined TIME GMAT classes then taken Crack Verbal online course but of little help.
I was wondering to go for eGMAT verbal online but someone advised me not to waste money as all the courses are more or less same.
In all my mocks, i ranged between 620 - 650. I have kind of given up on GMAT now as i find it very hard to focus and study for GMAT after 10 years of study gap.
I have heard that IIM Udaipur and IIM Indore average GMAT score is 650 , moreover candidates with 3-4 years of work ex also convert these institutes.( NOT TARGETTING IIM A, B, C, L)
May be i will have to go for some tier 2 or 3 colleges if cant make it to IIM U or IIM I

I have given my GMAT yesterday. I have got a score of 680(Q49,V34,IR 8).I might go for another try depending on the suggestion i get.
I am mainly interested in 1 yr to 15 months MBA courses.

Academics:
1 B.Tech CSE Hons from GGSIPU with 76%
2. Class XII: 65 %(PCME)
3 CLass X: 70 %
I have a gap of 2 years between my class XII and B.Tech

Targeting Class of 2019:
College Preferences:
India
 ISB,IIM-A,B,C,L,I , XLRI,MDI(not necessarily in this order)
Canada: 
Queens, Schulich, Rottman
USA & Europe: Pls. suggest as I think Ivy league, and top 20 are not possible with GMAT 680.
Work Experience:
I have 14+ years of experience in Telecom and Application Development Domain. I have worked on multiple projects and have been on numerous short term onsite assignments to Samsung(Poland,Seol ),Intel(Germany,Suwon),InterDigital ( Canada) offices for work related assignments.
My Last Designation: Technical Project Manager 
Achievements: 
1) Patent filled and accepted in US on Mobile Data
2) Multiple team awards for commitment towards work.
3)QA process compliance award

Extra Curricular Activities:
1. My hobbies are Playing cricket, chess and debating on Indian politics.
2. I teach couple of students from poor families at my home on weekends...i am not sure if that can help my profile in any way!!!
I do not have any significant awards/achievements that can be shown as a proof...

Goals: I want to join back in mid-level management profile in preferably top-notch MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Oracle...

Hello rjerath Though your work profile looks good with decent achievement, I see two problems you must overcome. The smaller problem is compensating for a lower than average GMAT. This is not a deal breaker and should not be a problem at Canadian schools, IIM-I/L, XLRI, MDI. Might be a slight issue at ISB, IIM A/B/C. The bigger issue at hand is showcasing a need of an MBA at this stage of your career. With 14 years of experience, you will not only be expected to show exceptional maturity, but your shortlist of schools also must happen accordingly, since your experience is considerably higher than the avg of the class and you will be an outlier. For example, in the the case of IIMB- the website clearly state that they are looking for people with 5-12 years of experience. In this case your chances might be low at IIMB. Same way you should research your list of schools (and even those not on your list) to first finalize what schools you will be applying to. My next recommendation to you is to get on this quickly as we are in the first week of August and most deadlines are barely a month away. Writing an application takes 4-8 weeks (depending on your schedule) and you have 4 weeks or less. (ISB date is 15 Sep, IIMA is 3 Sep, IIMB is End Aug. For others too it is mostly mid Sep) So if you are still shortlisting schools and reviewing profile, it might become difficult to submit in R1 for most schools. So work backwards and plan a calendar. 1)7.5 + years experience in It Industry as Senior Developer.
2)610 GMAT score and 80.45 Percentile in CAT
3)10th - 84.6% marks
4)12th - 61.67% marks
5)BTech - IT - 81.1 % marks
6)CEO/Director of Zionix solutions Pvt ltd - a software servcies & Product company.
7)CEO/Director of Swachh Wash LLP - a Company for Industrial Laundry Business.
8)Extra - curricular - 3 years has been working for NGO involved in agriculture, awareness for right to education for girl child, awareness for equal pay and status for women.
