This ques also tests on "parallelism" because of the marker "and" immediately after the comma. "immigrated", "lived" and "worked" are parallel in tense, hence "had immigrated" if used will make it unparallel.

The correct choice is B. In B, it seems that 'immigrated', 'lived', and 'worked' parallel way. If this is the case i am just confused how we used COMMA after the word 'migration'.

Hi, need some help to clarify something.
", and lived and worked"
What does that ", and" do in this sentence? It is the second (and last) of a list so I would expect that to be without the comma. 
When I see ", and" and it is not a list of three or more I automatically think it is opening a new IC (as in the structure "IC, and IC") and "lived and worked across the breadth of United states" does not seem to be a standalone IC.
What am I getting wrong?

To answer your query, "lived" and "worked" are not listed together with "immigrated", rather they are part of a separate list; the sentence says that Arabs immigrated to the United States as part of the Great Migration, and as a separate action they lived and worked across the breadth of United States.
