Hi Admission Consultants

Hi, I agree with the other posters here.
So long as you are still employed a month long break is not going to matter. At the same time, I will advise you to not quit your job (I know, you have not mentioned it here, but that's something many applicants do)

If you have not taken GMAT yet, the break could be a perfect time to do so.
For visiting schools on a class visit, you will have to align your visit with the time they invite applicants. A weekend visit can also work at a later time.

Thanks a lot VeritasPrepEdison Vibranture and MBADecoder for your guidance.

To answer what wasn't perfectly clear from my original post, I'll still be employed by the company during unpaid leaves. My understanding from the comments above is that it would not impact my applications(not even remotely) since it will not even show up on my CV. And I could use some of this time judiciously to work on my apps.
One question I still have (pardon me if I sound redundant), is there something else I would need to submit as part of my application process (something other than CV, may be salary receipts for verification of my employment, or something else) that may bring it to adcoms notice that I took a month long unpaid time off. It seems the answer is no and it would be as if I never even took it, just want to confirm.
On a different note, I may be able to do some things in this period that will help my admissions, and then I could even highlight that I took this break and what I did during this time changed my perspective on things/similar stuff. Only thing is I want to make sure it would be my choice to let them know or not.

You are welcome.

You assume correctly, the answer is no, so it would be your choice on disclosing this.

All the best!

You are reading too much into this Rollercoaster!
Adcoms are not going to come after you with a search warrant. We are discussing only a month's leave here, and the adcom, even if they find out are not unreasonable people to hold it against you.

If there is some substantial activity that you can do- maybe pick up an old activity and add to it, then it may be worth the effort. If you are planning something peripheral, then don't bother about it- anything superficial does not impress.

Responding to this thread, I'm in a similar situation. This was really helpful. Following up, when I report my salary on the application, can I still report the salary and bonus as if I didn't take unpaid leave? For context, my salary without my 5 weeks of leave is 80k and bonus 8k (10%), with the leave it's 73k and 7.3k, which would make it look like I had a salary decrease from my previous job which was 74k.

Thanks!
