Mammoth post incoming( sometime over the weekend)

Few things I learnt in this app process

1) Life is not fair

2) No matter how hard you try, one day you'll come to terms with the fact that THE PLAYING FIELD ISN'T EVEN

3) You BUST your nuts, trying to do everything you can, but soon you'll know that there are MANY things outside your control.

Tucked away in your sub-conscious mind is a ray of hope, a tiny little spark capable of burning down an entire city.

Sooner or later you'll learn that you're in a fight. It's not about who your opponent is but about THE MOMENT in which you realize that the task at hand is far more difficult than you had initially thought; you realize that the fight will be lost but at the same time you say to yourself that THE FIGHT MUST GO ON

The spark should live no matter what.

PS:- I'm sure last few lines don't make sense

I agree with you unplugged. Life is rough and mean. But in the end, if we keep working hard and be patient, then things will turn out for the best. Looks like I will be a re-applicant this coming summer.

I'm very happy today as my friend 'quantjock' got accepted at LBS. Now, rooting for you 'gkumar'. I hope you get in the place of your choice.

All the best to everyone who is waiting. All you need to make this a successful season is ONE admit - JUST ONE ADMIT. I got lucky as I applied to only 3 schools and got in one.

Keep this in mind:-

You have been working hard for so long. It's just the last mile now - DON'T LOSE FOCUS.

Keep at it. Keep punching. You can't get tired.

i'm really surprised as this application season comes to a close for me. the MBA admissions game is SOOOOOOO random. i'm really amazed and puzzled by my results, but it shows that your profile at one place can be interpreted completely differently than it is at another. i'm still sort of hurt that i got waitlisted at kellogg since I LOVE THAT SCHOOL lol, and had i not gotten $$ from wharton (my other #1), i'd still pursue kellogg, but i do believe through all of the yes's, no's, and maybe's, you'll end up where you're supposed to be. in your mind, it may not be the place you wanted it to be (a lot of us do get caught up by rankings), but you'll probably end up happy in the end.

Wow awesome quantjock! Congratulations! :)

And damn true unplugged. One admit is all that matters and I'm like the energizer bunny....still punching and hopefully get off the NYU waitlist! I'm actually glad that my once-upon-a-time crazed friending on facebook/linkedin is paying dividends. I'm re-networking with Sternies and going to hear about their experiences further. Then I can learn by osmosis and write a damn good update letter that will show my genuine interest for NYU.
