Hello all,
I have received admits from the above 3 schools with scholarships in a similar range (30-40k Per year). I have 2.5 years of work ex in the software development domain, and would want to move to technology / strategy consulting post MBA. This career path is not set in stone for me and I would definitely be open to product management in the technology sector as a backup plan. I do not have a work permit in the USA hence the STEM designation which Simon gives is a huge thing for me.
Points I am considering
Simon
+ STEM designation
+ 60% schol
+ Hopefully it will go up in rankings over the new few years due to recently change in curriculum.
- Not that many placements in big 4 consulting companies.
Mendoza
+ Best scholarship among the three - 40k per year
+/- University town, so cheaper living but from what I've heard networking becomes a challenge
Carlson
+ Best consulting program among the three
+/- Lower schol (30k per year) but cheaper tution so not much difference in balance tution.
+ Good location being in a big city should open doors in good tech firms
- Probably most expensive living costs among the three
- No STEM
Please let me know your views. If anyone can shed a light on the actual living costs in these 3 cities would be great so I have a better idea.
I will be putting down the deposit for one of these 3 soon, but I am also on the waitlist for Tepper and Kenan-flagler so best case scenario if I do get an admit from either one / both, how much scholarship should make my decision of letting go of the deposit and choosing to join either kenan-flagler or tepper, if that is possible / allowed?
