GEMBA IE vs Said vs Insead

Question

Hello,
I‘ve been admitted to all three Schools for the Executive programe. I am in the finance sector. Any thoughts on which is the best school considering future employement opportunities in Europe? In IE I get a €20k award.

Hi Jorge,

First off congratulations on the offers. I understand it's no easy feat.

With regards to employment opportunities in Europe, it very much depends on where in Europe specifically you're looking to settle into as the schools will dictate the networking opportunities you will have to look for a job. For the UK, Oxford would be the top choice in addition to overall strength of the finance program.

Having said that, with regards to career outcomes and services, INSEAD would come out on top due to the size of the alumni network and the opportunities across a number of sector, which would be good if you wish to change sectors or broaden your network. Once again this is a very personal choice and depends on your financial situation and what you want out of the program

Thanks for your reply. This makes a lot of sense. I am just hesitating as given the scholarship, IE is 60, Said 100 and Insead 120. But I guess one might get a faster return. Looking at older rankings, IE used to be quite strong whilst nowadays they rank with their gemba around 12-15.

That is quite a large difference in fees especially given the scholarship. IE rankings had a bit of a reshuffle a few years ago (If I recall they were removed off the FT MBA rankings list at one point). I would take rankings with a grain of salt as numbers can be internally and externally affected by a number of factors outside the schools control e.g. relative salaries across alumni in different countries and exchange rates.

I think all schools you have offers for are great schools and agreed that IE seems to give you the biggest ROI given the upfront cost of 40K compared to INSEAD. What I found helpful was finding different people on linkedin from those respective schools that has transitioned into the career path you wanted and ask them about their experience.
