Thanks for the comments bb and ANALysis.

The scholarship will cover a year's tuition + housing. I'm leaning slightly more towards Emory given the costs of living in NYC but will research some more before I make a final decision.

Will welcome any additional thoughts.

That’s a meaningful scholarship..... Probably would influence my opinion had I known it upfront. 😎

I would still love to hear your thoughts even if the OP had made a decision already. I guess it would be of great help for someone who may run into this choice again soon :)

Interesting... this post suggests it would be a fair trade if there was a 100% scholarship at Goizuetta:

That's v interesting bb thanks for pointing me to that chart.

I made a deposit towards Goizueta and turned down Stern's offer already. I based my decision on two points, outside of more personal reasons:

1.) Stern is considered Tier 4 here, but I had considered it to be closer to "4.5" based on various rankings from P/Q, USNWR, Economist, etc.

2.) The difference between Stern and Goizueta's price tags all things accounted for is ~$140k. I just finished paying off my Sedan ~20k, and so I thought of 140k as a lifetime of cars, which is a difference I'd be willing to pay if Stern was in a higher tier but isn't.

Obv, I made my decision before I got a hold of this resource, but I'd probably lean the same way even after reading it. Take my assessment with a grain of salt. I think one key here is determining how definitive these tiers are as they appear to be the foundation of whether certain $$$ is worth the drop.

I'm also waiting for more results to come in, so let me know if you have any additional thoughts/feedback in case I'm lucky enough to be put in a similar scenario again.

Hi everyone,

I got accepted into Emory with some money (1 year) and Stern with no money. I'd likely be staying in healthcare/life sciences but am not sure about function. Leaning towards consulting but very open to entrepreneurial stuff, too.

Which is the better option? Would love to know any additional thoughts from breaking things down immediately after MBA v. 5-10 years after MBA as well. Thanks!

I suspect you've already decided ... and if you have, we'd like to know what you decided.

And, if you didn't, two questions for you:

1) Where do you want to live? If NE, then Stern. If SE, Emory. If you don't care - take a look at the total % discount you'd be looking at (after tuition, room, board, books, fees, etc.) for your full experience at Emory vs. Stern as laid out in the links in my signature block below.
