Hello - I am currently trying to decide between Haas ($120k) vs. Wharton ($0). I'm originally from the Northeast and am looking to pivot into technology in Seattle or SF post-MBA.
Wharton:
Pros:
Larger alumni base
More prestige
More robust career center / private school resources
Potential to do any career if I need to later down the road
Cons:
So much more expensive
Not 100% sold on culture
Not in Bay Area (although they do have semester in SF)
Haas
Pros:
Tight knit community
Clear sense of culture that I identify with
Essentially $160k less in debt due to higher tuition at Wharton
Located in the Silicon Valley which will make recruitment easier
Cons:
Not a top 3 school
Public school resources
Smaller alumni base?
Limitation if I decide to go other routes than tech?
I'm leaning towards Haas because of the scholarship situation, but am I crazy for potentially giving up a top school? I've gotten an extension at Wharton until next week as I continue to contemplate options.
