10/3 × 4=40/3 square yard
40/3 × 12.51$= 166.8 $

total carpet area ; 10*12 ; 120 ft ^2
in yards; 120/9 ; 13.3
cost ; 13.3*12.5 = 166.8

The cost for the carpet for the room is:

10/3 x 12/3 x 12.51

10/3 x 4 x 12.51 = $166.80

Alternative solution:

Since 1 yd^2 = 9 ft^2, the carpet costs 12.51/9 = $1.39 per square foot. Thus the cost of the carpet for the room is:

10 x 12 x 1.39 = $166.80

Answer: A

Area = 10/3 * 12/3
= 40/3

Cost = 40/3 * 12.51 = $166.80

IMO A
