Hello Everyone!
I took my first GMAT exam yesterday, and needless to say I was very disappointed after seeing the score.
To recap -
I started my journey with EMPOWERGmat in June/July of 2020. It was a great course, and I liked it a lot. But after 3 weeks of using it I felt like the course was aimed for individuals that already had "some" knowledge of basics/medium level. After this I took a break from studying.
In October, 2020 I decided to sign-up for
TTP. It was a perfect course for someone like me. Comprehensive and exactly what I was looking for. At that time I had bought a new house, and with the amount of things going on - I decided that it was not the right time to start the prep just yet.
I decided to start my prep again with
TTP in May, 2021. I studied the first 3 modules and got stuck at Properties of Numbers. Found it extremely hard and started to lose hope only 3 modules in. Well there goes my motivation and time for another break.
Fast forward to another subscription of 6 months on Sept, 2021. This time around I had decided that I will it my all. 1 month in and I scheduled a test in March,2022 because I wanted a deadline to work towards. Had a death in the family and had to go to India. Was there for a month and did not study. But I came back in January and went full steam ahead! Finished
TTP by April. (Moved GMAT Date to May). Rest of April/May was a bit hard for me because of work, so had to move the GMAT again to August.
I bought the GMAT official Quantitative pack that gives you a "range" of what your score might be. After taking the 1st set I got a score of 42-49 with a 80% confidence interval.
I decided that I needed more time and continued with verbal and quant review. Finished SC and half of CR on
TTP's course and did good on medium tests, slightly below average on hard tests. I took a mock on August 13th and got a score of 530 (Q39, V28). I knew this was not a true score of myself since I had studied for 5 hours the day of taking the mock.
I took the GMAT Exam yesterday and got a score of Q47, V27 IR6. I have no idea why I am struggling so bad on the verbal section. SC and CR felt like I was not using any strategies that I learned through
TTP. I was not exhausted, if anything I was very focused, but it was just not clicking for me.
Now here I am with a score of 600, $1700 of prep worth later... I cannot afford to pay for
TTP anymore, while I would love to continue to use it.
My plan is finish CR and RC through youtube and review, review, review!
I would appreciate any feedback or things I should do.
