Hi Experts,

    1. I got a 690 (Q48 V35) last week after a 3 month preparation based on Manhattan guides.
      2. I feel confident about getting a Q50. My aim for verbal is to improve the score to V37.
        3. With that in mind, I am planning to enroll for the eGMAT Verbal course.

However, I have exhausted all 6 official GMAT Prep mocks and I've also given 1 Veritas and 1 Manhattan mock. With the eGMAT course, I would receive access to the GMATClub tests.

        Can you confirm if -

          A. The GMAT Club mocks are an accurate predictor of the Verbal scores
            B. If they are not, then is there a range of points that I need to +/- for the actual GMAT test?

            Accuracy depends on 2 things:
            1. Official vs. unofficial questions (only GMAT Prep has official questions)
            2. Database size

I would highly recommend that you only base your Verbal expectations on the official GMAT prep scores.

I have seen some people mentioned that they found MGMAT Quant questions to be somewhat more difficult than the actual GMAT and the score to be deflated somewhat. That's purely anecdotal.

bb, Thanks for the great post :)

I have been a member of gmat club for a couple of months and I already solved questions from GMAT Prep, OG, EP1 and EP2. I want to try out the free tests from gmatclub itself. Will there be questions that may be repeated from the sources that I mentioned? Or is it safe for such a concern?

            Appreciate your help :) :please

The official questions in the Wiley Official Guide and GMAT Prep are from tests administered in the last 20 years or so. Those questions are real GMAT questions but they have been retired and no longer used in the exams. You will not see any of the OG questions on your official test but you will see some similar ones since there are patterns, esp in quant.

            Good luck on your test!

As someone who has taken 1 or more of almost all the tests listed here, I can safely say that Experts Global has the best test series.

With 15 mocks compared to 5-7 by others, video explanations while no other test series offers them, excellent visual analytics, quality of questions that are the closest to GMAT, and a great user interface, Experts Global's test series is way ahead of others.

My sectional scores, total score, as well as number of mistakes in their tests was almost identical to the same in official mocks.

I see that some of the other test series have higher vote share here- probably because they are older and EG's test series came around quire recently. As the awareness of Experts Global grows, this should change.

In my opinion, 2-6 official mocks and 15 Experts Global mocks are more than sufficient when it comes to mocks.

I thought once I take the 2nd CAT from GMAC, I am done. No more GMAC CAT unless I want to buy the 3rd or 4th and so on. It appears BB stated otherwise. I just want to confirm before I take the 2nd. If I take the 2nd, I can still go do a 3rd and 4th without paying and the questions on the 3rd and 4th are not the same questions but pulled from a pool?

            Could someone please confirm?

I am at about Q44 and V32 and hopefully will get to a Q48 and V40 in 2 or so months. I bought the egmat course so I have the CATs from GMAT CLUB. Is there anything else you might recommend as far as variety of content? Or do you think with the content I have, I need to focus on mastering rather than looking for more content?

Hi. The question bank used for Exams 1&2 is different from the bank for exams 3&4.

Moreover, the question bank size is much bigger for 1&2 and you can sometimes squeeze out additional tests out of it (esp if you take one early on in your prep and then the other later on in your prep).

Hope this answers your question. I was a bit unsure the exact direction it was headed.

            Thanks!

The above makes sense. The latter tests are from a different pool and that is why it costs most.

The 2nd question was whether you think I need more content. I think I already know the answer. I have enough content. I need to focus on mastering the material.

is Princeton material sufficent for 700+ score?

IMO, this will likely not be sufficient for many people. You will need to supplement with other prep materials that deal with concepts.

PR is a good starting point though.

please advise on the quality of expert global.. are the scores on the same lines as the actual GMAT with +-20 points???

I have tried Experts Global online course which offers the materials as well as 15 mock tests. Speaking about the mock tests, the UI is very similar to the actual GMAT Test which will help you get acquainted with the actual test screen.

Firstly, there is lot of scope for practicing IR and hitting an 8. There's not much you can learn about AWA. He gives a general explanation about the flaws in the argument. Simple and neat.

There is a huge collection for quant, however, the quant is not very hard (which I believe is close to the actual GMAT), but I would prefer a harder one to save time. But they have amazing video explanations which will help you assess what amount of time can be spent on various types of questions (The video doesn't tell you what amount of time to be spent, but the length of the video speaks about it).

Verbal Section, I feel, is not up to the mark because I did not do what I am suggesting now. The explanations are not very clear. Anyhow, every question will be available with clear explanation and discussion on GMAT Club. All you should do is google it. I cannot comment on the closeness to GMAT, because I had variable scores in each mock and also in the actual test. I could not assess where I was lacking even after attempting 10-12 mocks. If you choose this, then I suggest you analyze your verbal in detail (every question - right and wrong) and read proper explanations on GMAT Club.

15 mock tests is a lot to practice sitting 4 hours, which is the most important part of the test.

There are a few flaws as well. I found the question stems in verbal and quant repeating though what they ask for is not the same. This is because I used the same practice material also. If you're not using the same, the chances are few.

For 49$, it is value for money.
