It’s a good thought, but nobody cares what classes you took in the business school when they recruit you. Usually there’s only a handful of classes that are worth taking and those tend to be after naps cure or very hard to get and require appoint bidding system with no guarantee that she will get them. I would not make a choice of the business called based on electives.... professors - yes. But not variety of electives/etc.

Once internship recruiting starts, the nebulous dreams of self-improvement and desire to learn another language, python, excel modeling, fill in the blank goes away. When you live in six hours of sleep for months and trying to network and land a job, taking that alternative fuel elective becomes a second though. During second year, students often choose their classes based on the syllabus. They review what kind of a test and what kind of a courseload it has. How much class participation is expected and is it a take-home final or in class final. I won’t say what they choose ? and I’m probably over sharing but figured I would paint a realistic picture.

Will the bigger number of electives at Booth make a big difference in the skill set you'd take into the work force? If so, Booth.

In your mind, is there a meaningful difference in the school's COVID-19 response?

Have you spoken to anyone in career services at either school? That's one of the first things I'd do.

bb ... my comments about electives spun out of his profile above ...

We don't know his/her UG degree ... we don't know his/her first job ... I don't know the specifics of the electives at each school or how the opportunities at each would possibly fill gaps between his/her UG, first job and post MBA goals.

Great problem to have.. congrats on the offers!
In terms of career opportunities in Tech and Consulting - you will have pretty much the same opportunities at both schools.

Booth sends an increasingly large number into big tech (Amazon is not far behind McKinsey in terms of # of intern hires)
- Booth's "data driven" approach is a big sell in the tech industry, and the reputation for a comparatively more rigorous curriculum also creates a positive effect among companies (many guest speakers remark that "you go to Booth, so you will understand this" when talking more technical stuff)
- For most recent year, I know that Booth over-indexed in terms of getting return offers from Amazon (compared to other schools, based on conversations with friends)

In terms of making your choice, you should base it on non-career factors. Like you mentioned -
1) suburb life vs downtown life
2) flexibility of curriculum
3) color preference: maroon vs purple (jk)

Good luck with the decision, and it will be a great choice no matter which way you go!

I would recommend Kellogg here for your situation. The push for tech and of course for MBB are first rate. However both schools are very strong in their recruitment, so you can't go wrong. The living situation in Evanston may be more conducive to connect with students, even if you are officially in a virtual hybrid model

I know this has been asked several times already, however what are people's opinions of Booth vs Kellogg. I have been admitted to both programs. My post-MBA interests are to work in a corporate strategy function for Tech (Google / Apple / MSFT / AMZN) or to recruit for MBB. Torn between the flexibility of course work and opportunity to live downtown Chicago with the close-knit community of Kellogg and that it is potentially stronger for tech?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this choice?
