Kellogg, and you can repurpose a lot of the effort you put toward GSB for Kellogg. Really don't feel Booth or Sloan have a personal development focus. More so Yale, that would be a good "safety school" and the app is short.
Hi!
I’ve more or less completed my R1 apps for H/S/W, and am looking at R2 applications but unsure of which schools to apply to.
Background: International applicant, 3 years work experience in MBB, currently working at a tech startup (think equivalent to uber/ Airbnb), 770 GMAT, first class honours from a top UK school
My ideal schools are definitely H and S, but I know these are a stretch and I’d still like to apply to other schools in the M7, but I don’t want to boil the ocean.
As a sponsored candidate, I’ll be returning to my firm after MBA, so my (honest) goals through the MBA are really for personal growth (that’s why I’m really attracted by H/S’s curriculum and focus on introspection) as well as to explore potential future career paths. I also really want to experience a campus type of environment!
I went to Columbia’s info session but did not feel like we were a fit so I’m not planning to apply there - their laser focus on getting people into finance and consulting wasn’t something I wanted, and I didn’t want my MBA experience to be so purely focused on career/ admissions instead of developing as a person.
I didn’t manage to attend the other M7 schools’ info sessions (other than HSW) so would really appreciate some advice on the different schools’ cultures and which you feel might be a fit? Looking at Kellogg/ Booth/ Sloan here.
I know I can also apply to all 3 and wait for admission results, but honestly I want to just focus my efforts on 1-2 schools here given time constraints as I’ll be quite busy the last quarter of the year!
Appreciate any advice!
