Had to refresh my portal in order to get a decision. Unbelievably rude that they couldn't be bothered to send an email. [#permalink]

I wouldn’t be bothered by it, they didn’t send invites to applicants either.

On Dec 4, admitted applicants will get a call notifying them they got in. For everyone else, waitlisted or denied, they’ll get a portal update on Dec 5.

hi guys, question for you

I interviewed 2 weeks ago and I just visited the school this week. I made the trip from Brazil, which is a very long way and expensive....I wish I could gave done earlier in the year, but my vacation schedule didn't allowed...

Anyway, I visited the school and I loved it. It was a great experience and now i'm even more sure that booth is my first option...students were real nice, the building is amazing, the culture of school (data driven + pay it forward) really connects with me

Do you think it is a good idea to share with the admissions office this trip? just send an email for them telling that I visited the school and how the experience was + reinforcing that Booth is my first option

It's kind of an update because I came to school and took actions...but at the same time I dont want to look anxious.

Is it a matter of tone?

please share any thoughts

Tks!

My opinion is that you should just keep it to yourself. It’s great that you made the long trip (and loved the school), but I’m sure many students made the trip and many didn’t. I don’t think it’ll swing your application either way. Good luck with the wait!

I’m sorry for responding late but you should ignore the person’s advice who replied to you.

You should ABSOLUTELY let them know how much of a great time you had. I’d definitely mention your highlights of the trip and what you loved and if it reinforces why Booth is the right booth for you! Share your enthusiasm!

Should I also email the admission team at Booth? I made a stupid mistake, not following up with the officer after our meeting during campus visit. Do you think it's still worth it to email them now?

That’s a pretty long time to wait to send a follow up email.

Poets & Quants 2019-2020 rankings came out today and rank Booth at #2 behind #1 Standard. #3 Harvard, #4 Wharton, and #5 Northwestern.

Nice! You think the P&Q rankings are anything meaningful? Obviously doesn't hurt but I generally shy away from one year's rankings. It does seem like they aggregate other rankings as part of this so maybe more reliable

P&Q’s rankings is probably the most reliable, since it combines all of the major rankings out there. But, it’s not really a stand alone ranking, since they’re using other rankings. Still good to see #2 Booth near the top!

I don’t think an aggregation of unreliable rankings makes it any more reliable but.... what do I know? :-)

I think Booth has been doing well but it is likely still no HBS in Europe or Asia where nobody has heard about either Booth or U of Chicago.

PS. Please don’t kill me....

Thats a fair take, I was thinking maybe more reliable than only using one set of ranks, but they still do put their own spin on it. You make a very salient point about International name recognition for those looking to go back outside the US after graduation.
