Does anyone have any idea about the Darden Diversity Conference waitlist process?

In the email, they said they'll get back by October 8th but that is after the Round 1 deadline. Yes, I do want to attend the event but I was also hoping for that application fee waiver (that you get when you attend the diversity conference). 250 USD especially for international applicants is on the steeper side (or at least for me). Anyone else in a similar situation? Any thoughts on how best to go about this?

I mean, not to be annoying but the point of the Diversity Conference is to showcase how Darden embraces diversity through its various resources (classroom, faculty, clubs, etc.), not to give people application fee waivers or free interviews. The goal of the conference is awareness of Darden's diversity and the incentives are fee waivers and free interviews - not the other way around. So that's why they won't really care whether the conference or conference decisions happen after the R1 deadline, just so long as its before R2, there will still be enough incentive for prospective students to sign up and thats what they care about.

I completely understand and agree with what you're saying. And those are my primary reasons to want to attend the conference as well. I want to learn more about and engage with the school. As a secondary (and not as important) reason, I am asking about the incentives.

Learning teams are am invaluable peer resource for Darden students as they navigate the core curriculum. Every student is assigned to a Learning Team consisting of 5-6 students from an array of backgrounds and perspectives, and this built-in support system serves as an important connection to the broader Darden community....
Tell us what you want your Learning team to know about you that is not in your resume (150 words).. How best can one tackle this
