(250 words maximum) Tip: A successful six-word story will pique the reader’s interest in the forthcoming explanation. Together, the story and explanation will share a specific and personal experience that helps the reader get to know you better, giving insight into your character, values, or how you would uniquely contribute to the Berkeley-Haas community. I am currently drafting my essays for the first round, any tips? How recent the stories or examples need to be? I scored a 730 on GMAT (Q49, V40). How competitive that is?

I have a friend who juuust joined Haas. She said there are 4 Indians in her class. Their GMAT scores are 740, 760, 770 and 770. It is a tough world man!

souvik101990 have you ever used Grammarly? It's not foolproof but can be helpful to catch little mistakes or at least flag things you might want to double check in terms of grammar, spelling, etc.

Thanks. I use grammarly a lot! It's really good and if you get the premium, it adds some nice phrase alternatives.

Strange that the new portal doesn't have my past application. - I hope they have my GMAT and I do not need to send the official report again. Did you send the official report again? - I am submitting one new reco only. Hope they have my past recos in the record. Did you submit one or two new recos this time? Cheers.

Hey johndoe2016 Haas website encourages reapplicants (who applied within the last two years) to submit one or two new letters of recommendation, so it sounds like you are totally fine to only do one and that they should have your past recommendations on file. Their website also states if you retook the GMAT/GRE/TOEFL since your last app you should have the testing service forward the new official scores. I take that to mean that if you haven't re-taken you should be good to re-enter your old score (the website does say the test score section of the application needs to be filled out again) and they will use your previous official report to verify. With these questions (especially about the official score report) I'd maybe lean just towards calling the admissions office to double check (although someone else might have asked them these exact questions already and can chime in here) and also make sure you're all good to have your updated sections tied to your old app. I'm sure their system is designed for that, but just since you had to create a new account with the old e-mail it seems like something to be extra sure on.

that's strange. My old password did not work, had to register new account. Both of my recommenders did not get emails with links. Tried to change to personal email, still no effect. Tried to send reminders through website - no effect. called admission, their answer was - that is not uncommon, just use post mail.
