Been reading online if you went to a non-ivy, for undergrad and your gpa is near the median, you’d need a 99th% on gmat for your application to not be a lottery ticket, but to be a contender. How true is this? Is a 665 automatically rejected for a 705, when everything else is held constant? probably...
Hi, there is absolutely no such rule whatsoever. And if there is, schools do not disclose it to anybody externally.
I’ve personally helped many clients who haven’t even done an international degree get into Ivy League schools with just above average GMAT scores.
A lot of it will depend on your entire profile and application. What I recommend is that you write to us with your detailed profile so we can do a proper free evaluation for you. Reach out to us at Think BlueBox Consulting Website.
That said, Indian students do typically submit extremely competitive GMAT scores, so you should aim to get the most competitive score that you can.

Hi everyone, I saw a video of a consultant saying M7 schools prefer the GMAT more, even though they say they have no preference. Is that true? Would I be at a disadvantage if I submit a GRE score?
Hi, while one M7 admission consultant might have said that, the fact is there is no bias toward the GMAT or GRE at any school.
That said, schools are converting the GRE scores to the new GMAT Focus Edition scores to understand where you’ll stand in the classroom, since most students typically submit the GMAT.
When the GRE is converted to the GMAT, the scores often end up being quite low. That’s one reason why many applicants prefer taking the GMAT and getting an actual score.
