So if there was no mention of a scholarship on the call, that means we didn't get one, right?

That's likely, but I would contact the admissions office to make sure. You never know unless you ask!

I see people with means using consultants for every step in their applications from writing essays to preparing what to say in the interviews getting through. Does this mean there is no hope for independent applicants like me? :(

I got in and did the whole thing without consultants. I borrowed test books and used friends and family to help review and refine my essays and resume. It definitely can be done

Agreed! ^ I used a consultant for my Kellogg application and was denied. So please know that nothing is guaranteed.

Absolutely thrilled to be accepted today!

I was a re-applicant so for those of you who decide to try again next year, there definitely is hope.

Hope to see some of you in Evanston!

This was turning out to be a tough bunch of rejections.

Got Kellogg. London based. Relieved. Humbled. Excited.

Congrats fellow Kellogg admit/Booth WL!

Hah. Didn't realise there were more of me. What are you going to do? :D

Leaning towards Kellogg, I got an admit to UCLA with some money so I'll ask Kellogg if they can provide anything. If they equalize, or close the gap, I'll take Kellogg. With no money, it's a harder decision but still leaning Kellogg, not really thinking about the Booth WL

Hey, I went through the entire process by myself, and I can assure you this isn't the case. As long as you're honest with yourself, can put down your thoughts and relay your interest for the school with conviction, I don't think there's anyone who can stop you.

All the best!

How are you planning on approaching this? Was hoping to get money from another school to do the same with Kellogg

Admitted with $$$!! Got the call around 1 PM CST yesterday. Was getting discouraged as the day went on, then suddenly my phone started ringing and as soon as I noticed it was an 847 number I bolted out of my meeting to answer it.

Glad this is all over with; hope to meet some of you at DAK in February!

It will show up as an available letter in the portal if you have one!

Is this an option? Can you go to Kellogg with other scholarship offers with a reasonable expectation that they might increase their offer?

Is this possible to negotiate with the school that are lower in ranking such as UCLA?

Yes - I had an admit get an extra $10K from Kellogg after Booth matched their offer. He was pretty exceptional, but also, it was round 3, so still shocking.

Guys,

I had added a recommender for Kellogg at the start of Dec'16. He wanted to fill it up, and had started filling the recommendation as well, but in the middle, he had some family emergency, due to which he said he may not be able to devote time.

I then canceled the recommender and added a new recommender. However, the new recommender has not received any link, despite me sending multiple reminders.

I have sent an email to Kellogg - but have not got a reply. I tried calling them but they said they are closed.

I want to know if I can start a new application and fill in the items, with a newer email ID. What I want to know is this - GMAC has sent the test scores to Kellogg already, and in the current application, the test scores come as verified.

If I fill in with a newer email ID, and fill in my GMAT score, will there be a discrepancy? Does the university only verify that I gave an exam on that day, or will they not accept my scores?

Additionally, I can add the personal email ID of the personal recommender, but will this be seen in a bad light?

Thanks,
sad_general
