Good luck to all the round 2 applicants! Feel free to message me with questions you may have - recent round 1 admit. Excited for all of you!

Hi all,

I am a Round 2 applicant and have a small query. I submitted by GMAT scores to LBS but LBS seems to request Official Test Taker Copy. Now obviously the Test Taker Copy has all other Business Schools I have submitted my score to as well cancellations. How did you all navigate this?

None of the other bschools had such request i.e. the Test Taker Copy..They were fine till the time they have received the school copy from MBA.com.

Please help.

Did the admissions contact you asking for this?

No Navigating.
Provide them the official test taker copy. No other choice.
I did the same.

I was wondering how people highlighted their extra-curricular information?

Did you use the essays to convey this information or did you use the application? The application did have a box on extra-currics but not sure how detailed we were supposed to get over there.

Hello guys

Do you have any Idea what impact it will have if applied at a later deadline?
Is it like the at later deadlines the number of seats to be filled is very less. Hence that will impact the chances of admit heavily?

I have 7 years exp & a GMAT of 690 Q 50 V 33 IR 6 AWA 5
I am planning to retake GMAT by Mar end & apply to Judge, Said & LSB with 720/730+ (hopefully)

LBS has a deadline on Feb 24 & the next deadline is on Apr 21.
Feb 24 with 690 or Apr 21 with 720/730. (which one is wiser?)

Thanks

You might be aware that a large number of candidates apply with a 730+ score. Also, the later you apply, the tougher it gets for reasons you have already mentioned. So, if you are planning to apply for Apr 21 deadline with a better score, then your score better be phenomenally high(750+). Else if you are confident that you have a good profile, go for Feb 24 deadline. All the best.

There are a few things to consider (according to me):

1. Are you consistently getting above 700 in mocks? If not, are you absolutely sure you can score a 720/730+ score? GMAT isn't the easiest of the exams and it gets really challenging to score beyond a limit...

2. I would strongly suggest to drop a mail to LBS and see if they can accept your new score after the deadline. In my experience many schools are flexible and can accommodate a better score till at-least a few days after the deadline. In that case you can take the GMAT early March and update LBS later. You may also mention this in the optional essay.

3. Are you from an over-represented group? If not, you should be good to go even with a 690 GMAT. Again, I'm no expert on LBS, just my personal opinion.

Hope I was helpful

I am aware that being an Indian male even 730 is not good enough for top schools. I might get 740/750, But again tat depends on the exam day.
I was consistently scoring over 730 before my first GMAT. But ended up with 690. So only I am not able to make up my mind.
Plus Indian male, profile gets a severe beating there only. Cant say I have an extra ordinary profile. I am not into IT, I am into Transportation train design. But still Indian male.
Any thoughts should I apply with 690 or not.

Well, do consider Mr. Rohit bansal's point no. 2. Get your essays in place. Say something fascinating, like you want to revolutionize the railway industry in India or make design improvements to Hyperloop.. :-D ..Yes, the result of the actual test cannot be predicted with certainty based on the gmat prep score. I used to score 760 but ended up with 710. And yes, Indian male( engineer) tag makes it all the more hard for us. Nevertheless, a wise guy once told me that even if you have a 1% chance to succeed at what you really want to do, you must take that chance. :-D (P.S. I have applied to Yale with 710..crazy!) So all the very best
