At the risk of sounding like a pr**k, I agree with gmatinsead2018. Im Indian too, and the competition is real.

As an aside - I now live in Singapore but hold an Indian passport. Do you guys reckon I'd be clubbed into Indian /male/engineer or Singapore /male /engineer?

So am I and I have a 700. I know 700 is downright impossible to get in with but seeing people with 770 fret is surprising.

You'll probably still be clubbed into the Indian bucket but the living abroad will be a plus - at least that's what I'm telling myself

It's not impossible to get in with a 700 given that LBS average is around 710.

However Indian applicants generally need to score much higher since there is so much competition.

I was exaggerating. The conventional wisdom is that Indian male engineers need a score higher than the average to get in. 700 is below the LBS average GMAT. I was just saying "Don't fret if you have a 770".

I know. That's the point I was trying to make by referencing my score

On October 11, will we also find out if we're turned down or waitlisted? Will everyone find out at the same time?

Why don't you write to the Adcom and find out directly? If it is a university they are familiar with, then they might give you a waiver.

No, I doubt that. I couldn't login yesterday as well, but the portal works today.
