How much weightage does McCombs give if your preferred line of work is in the energy sector? And can someone give me odds by %ages? For example, how many lawyers would apply to McCombs (or for that matter anyother B School). And isnt there any advantage of any sort?

Hi All,

I am an applicant from India. I applied in R2 and haven't received 'What I Owe' (application fee) mail yet. I contacted the Adcom and they said heavy volume of applications received is causing delay. Is there anyone on the same boat?

Applied in Round 2. Indian applicant.

GMAT score of 710.

Have worked for two years in the energy sector, so really keen on McCombs.

Am a lawyer by qualification.

Still haven't received an interview call.

How worried should I be? Can someone rate my chances.

You'll receive an e-mail saying that you are invited to an interview.
At least that was the procedure in R1.

are they inviting people still in 'incomplete' status? e.g actually waived toefl but somehow my status listing it in 'to do'...

An email - watch out if you use gmail though it goes into your promotions box.

Hello,
I got my interview invitation on Jan 15th.
I am having a hard to time to figure out whether to go to Austin and have an on campus interview or to do it by Skype. I am from Brazil and it is such a trip going all the way to Texas. Also, I have been in Austin to a class visit in November. However, Mccombs is one of my favorites and I really want to increase my chances of getting in.

Can anyony help me with that?
Should I really go to Austin again or it won't metter that much?

Last year invites didn't start to trickle out until 2.5-3 weeks after the applications were in.

Based on the data here on GC, around 50% applicants get invited to interview at McCombs (check R1 numbers). That would suggest that a majority of the invites are pending.

Anyone has ideas why the hub interview in Chicago and New York are not available? Is it simply because there aren't no seats anymore?
I am in Chicago area and I cannot register for the hub interview. Also, no alumni reply my interview request....So sad! Perhaps I am gonna choose interview by Skype.

　Well...then I will choose Skype interview instead. Anyone knows if there is any advantage of hub interview over Skype? i am kind of anxious about it.

Does anyone still have this list of instructions showing when they login to check their application status? I thought this is supposed to go away once everything has been submitted.
