That just seems completely imprudent - that the schools would take in "most of their Indian quota" in round 1! I mean, then why invite applicants in round 2??
I don't think (or really hope) that is what happens, i heard the same thing about Insead - but I have gotten calls from Booth and UCLA in this round.
Whatever the situation, I do think Ross should update all candidates (even if it is that they will decide on waitlist/denied at a later date), as soon as they send out the final round of invites. If Friday was indeed the final wave - it should have come with a message via blog/twitter whatever for those not selected.

Well it makes no sense to do this from their perspective. Hypothetically if you have 800 applicants in R2, and invite 400 to interview your decision on deny/waitlist is between 400-800 students. If you assume 75% are admitted (300) then the adcom might want to waitlist 20 interviewed and 80 non-interviewed students. However if they only admit 250 due to bad interviews or something they might waitlist 20 interviewed and 140 non-interviewed applicants. You already know your decision for R2 by now is either interview or waitlist/deny. To me the difference between waitlist and deny is negligible from the R2 applicants perspective as you will either be interviewing somewhere else or considering your options for R3/next year.
