I don't think anyone is out of the running until you get the rejection notice. I don't understand the whole travel schedule comment, its purposefully vague. People were saying east coast canidates don't usually receive invites until the last day but there were plenty of people in Boston and NY that got invites. I would be optimistic and say yes Indian applicants can still get an invitation.

I see some Indian applicants got their interview invites. MIT in their mail said the invitations are sent based on the travel schedules. Do you guys think that is it for the Indian applicants!
My theory of "batches of invite are sent out based on interviewers' schedule", is that each interviewers are assigned a certain amount of interviews, that during a period of time they can only interview 1/3 or 1/2 of their assigned interviews, hence the batches. I would assume some of the non-Boston interviews will have to work around with local Alums' schedule as well. Alums are not full time admin people, but full time workers with busy business schedule.
Keep up the hope

, at least 2 more batches and there's always R2 too.
