Received an interview invite today 12/01/2018 23:00 Hrs IST....Scheduled it on ZOOM for 19/01/2018...Wish me luck guys...and I need some guidance about the interview...this will be my first interview for MBA outside India... :)

My understanding is that you absolutely should update your status with admissions, and an updated CV would be a good way to communicate.

From the application guide:

"If you retake a test, add a new line on your resume, or have any other updates to your submitted application, please reach out to us ([email protected]) and we will make sure that your application is updated accordingly."

Hi all,

I had my interview on 19.01.2018 10:00 AM CT (9:30 PM IST) with an MBA candidate from class of 2018.

The interview was great. My interviewer was a genuine and humble fellow which made things easier.

He asked me for a 60 seconds elevator pitch...and then followed it by 3-4 questions related to my experince in social engagement and community service, which I had mentioned in my resume....Then he asked the typical.."Why MBA"..."Why Rice" questions.....

The interview was very conversational...I felt much comfortable specially after bombing my Cox interview the evening before on 18th..

I think the key is to reherse your answers for typical questions well and be clear about your goals and how will Rice MBA help in this regard...

I am still waiting for my interview invite. I dont think Rice interviews all applicants but only a few shortlisted ones.

For all those who have their interviews in coming days or awaiting interviews here is the list of all interview questions that I compiled from the feedback of applicants who were already interviewed this year or previous year.

introduce yourself or
Walk me through your resume or
One min elevator’s pitch
what does team work mean to you
can you give me an example of you leading a team
can you give me an example when you are not a team leader
can you share a life changing moment
Tell me about a conflict faced at work place
Tell me about a time when you solved a challenging task and what was the learning
Why MBA? Why Rice?
Why you?
What are your short and long term goals?
Give me an example of leadership
How do you work in a team effectively?
What clubs/organizations/activities are you interested in participating in?
Lastly, he asked for any queries I had for him
