Linkedin Networking:
If any of you are interested to network with current students and Alums of Tepper, please follow the below steps:
1) Identify of all the alums, who aligns well with your current profile and target profile you want to achieve
2) Once you have identified a or a group of current students or alum profiles, always (i repeat always) send a connection request with a note why you want to connect and what help you need.
3) Try to be as specific as possible. We get lots of connection requests and most of the time, we are very busy and we will look only for those profiles who has put some thoughts into the connection requests.
4) Once a current students or alums connection requests, first thank the person for accepting a connection request and ask whether the student or alums can spare 10-15 mins for a chat.
5) If the current student or alum can't spend time on a call, probably, they will provide a email address (probably a tepper email address) for you to send your queries.
6) Always (i repeat always), do the research about Tepper school and ask specific questions. I personally like to have a good conversation with a person who has done research about the school. We are to help but at the same time, we will help only those candidates who has done some research.
This steps will go a long way as these will help you to network better. Asian students lack this skill and first month at Tepper, you will get introduced to this skill and I still use this skills to network with my alum and know more about their exciting accomplishments.
All the best. GMAT is just a score and you need to strengthen your applications with a good networking ability.
