Hi Manoj,

I guess that takes you to Alberta. Or planning on joining Molson?

Now, I am in the dilemma of which school to choose :(
I am sure many of you are in the same boat. Please please do put in some inputs.

I've admits from both Sauder and Schulich and am not waiting on Olins (would rather say might be and mostly dinged by Olins)

1. I'm not sure what the fees of Schulich are 89k $ is what they have mentioned, not sure what currency that is (USD or CAD). No mention of any scholarship yet :(
Sauder is 65k $ and no scholarship. If it's in USD, it's a nobrainer, but I assume and I really hope if it's in CAD, I might have to think.

2. Reputation wise UBC is well known in Canada, but Schulich is prominent in Toronto.
I don't have any idea of recent (2015) placement reports. But from what I've heard, the Sauder staistics of graduation are 6 months after December (77% employed) + Vancouver cost of living is high and salaries are lesser compared to Toronto (might not be true, can't quantify either).
Again I heard the career services at Sauder normally help well for getting internships and there are basically NO recruitment sessions on campus for Full Time hiring. Someone Please throw some light.

I'm not a finance enthusiast or even if I would be, chances of getting a finance job in Toronto is still slim, considering it's already a finance target for many people with background in finance.
I'm looking at Product management/Leadership roles/general management roles post MBA.

3. Does anyone know if Schulich has a paid internship term? I'm not quite sure if they are paid in Field study term and how easy is it to get those.

Oh sorry bro. That is disappointing. Alberta is a good choice. You might already have, but if needed, please let me know and I can connect you with an alumus. He's a friend of mine and an ex-colleague. Might not be that great a help, but .. in case..

This post was
BOOKMARKED
Am I the only one on this thread that got interviewed by Liz Starbuck-Greer? Anyway, got done with my interview on 16th Jan early morning (2.30am). Liz was very easy to talk to and did not make me feel nervous even once. In essence, the interview was very conversational. In my opinion, they make candidates feel comfortable in order to get the best out of them. My interview was 45 minutes long and it was like a post-mortem of my resume. But again, she handled it very well and allowed me to steer the conversation whichever way I felt best. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I think I did my best. To all you guys who are yet to be interviewed, I wish you luck. Keep calm, keep a clean background, possibly buy a microphone to ensure you are clearly audible to the interviewer and, lastly, speak your heart out. All the best!!

Mine was with K. For some reason I felt she left the meeting unimpressed. The other two interviews were more casual, and I was able to make small talk and even share a few laughs. But Sauder was quite the opposite. Adding to it, my internet went so slow that I had to request her to turn her video streaming off and go with audio only. :/
They ask you right at the beginning on when you need the decision. Mine will hopefully be out on Thursday I think. Got to wait and decide if it is going to be Schulich or Sauder.
Your's is a different interviewer, so go with an open mind and do not carry this. All the very best.
