Hi Nikhil,
Fact is this is how Simon has branded itself out there in the market.
I applied in R1 and got a 15 mins Interview round with the adcom.
I knew it then and there that they have already made a decision and interview was just a formality.

Hii friends, I had a zoom call yesterday with Julie Sadwick of Simon Business School. I have also submitted an application in R2 and have not received an interview invite. She refused to answer any questions based on my profile evaluation as I have already submitted an application and that would seem unfair to others. However, I asked her what is the make or break condition for an admit there? Ek toh Culture fit wali gaseous baat ki usne then she said that yhe college looks for guys who can secure a good job post MBA from there, who have had experience of working in cross cultural environment (another jargon for international experience) or have worked in a cross cultural team, who have work experience from well known MNCs.
Ahe also said that this year the no. Of international applications received is highest in the last 17 yrs of her career at Simon.
Then I asked how do you guys allocate seats for each round? Is there any fixed quota? She replied that there is no formula for that and it is possible that almost all international seats would have been filled in R1 and that very few seats are left for further rounds. They try to keep batch size between 100-125 and are in no mood to compromise with applicant quality.
Then I checked Decsion Tracker for Simon, and I think that 8 people have already got admit this year (in R1), almost all are CS/IT background. I guess CS/IT people with On-site experience and with existing career trajectory in line with recruiters that usually hire form Simon are the best fit.
From my side I have given up on all hope from Simon, they are far too concerned with maintaining their diversity and given the competitive applicant pool of asian, engineer, male it is a waste of time waiting for their invite.
