It takes a lot of courage to do what you have done. Congratulations.

Is it safe to entirely blindside Official gmat questions and focus only on gmatclub questions in quiz/test format?

That is one "GREAT" debrief. Hard work really pays off.
I always read on this forum that souvnik is a GMAT verbal hero and (I assumed) that you have already got your dream score. But your continuous efforts and determination are commendable.

And Good luck for your applications. Hope you get your "DREAM" school. :)

For quant - Absolutely
For verbal - Absolutely NOT.

Congrats Souvik. I wish you get your dream school. I am one of the persons who is pretty silent in this group but your post helped me break the ice and I hope it melts from here on now.

Thanks man and best of luck for your future.

If I had to bookmark one Prep post, it would be this. I loved it simply because I can identify with it. I am not an exceptionally talented person and my attention span is sporadic, to say the least. But this gives me hope.

Nothing is impossible if you work hard and just remain aware of your mistakes and work on them continuously. I might be appearing for my GMAT in August and I have recently started my preparation. I aspire to receive a score in higher 700s and I think using the keys and methods that you have enumerated might really help me get close to my goal.

Thank you for the post - waiting for you to convert one of the best B-schools and get some more motivation from it.

Cheers. (And extra Kudos, if I may)

Congrats on the great score, souvik101990! Four years is a long time, but you persevered.

[*]If you want me to post my ESR, I am happy to do that. (I do have to check if there is any confidentiality code in the PDF but probably not. Although many people have shared their ESRs, but rules and rules I guess. I will post it if you guys want.
Yes, as an avid ESR collector I would love to see yours, and I'm sure others would as well. You should verify your score on GMAT Club, too: https://gmatclub.com/forum/new-feature-verified-gmat-score-236030.html

Best of luck with the next phase of your journey.

Now I might be late in congratulating you, but believe me, when I type "G" in chrome's address bar, not gmatclub.com but this debrief is what it suggests. This debrief link is highest visited link in my chrome, I've read it close to 20 times now!

Congratulations!!

I took gmat yesterday (scored terrible 650 though), and i can relate to what you said-test throws some really simple questions anywhere in the test. I believe it might be for two reasons-
1. Waste your time in thinking what might be possible trap here, or commit silly mistake in easy question.
or
2. Get you into easy mode so that the next hard question you encounter, you'll still be in easy mode and couldn't think of possible solution!

Great debrief I must say. Hopefully I will write one similar some time soon!

Congratulations once again!

Dear souvik101990,
Thank you for your post! Congratulations! I wish you success with your career whatever it may be.
Don't know if you are still visiting the forum but I am going to post my question anyway.
As you say for an "average dude" what you think is a better strategy and value for money if the goal is "just" 700 points (I am not talking about making a goal of such exceptionally high score as you did): either enroll to some preparation course of the companies you mentioned (cost around 300$) OR buy well respected books (like OG and several the most recognisable in each section like CRbible etc. for total around 150$ and study on my own by these books.
Do you think books should be enough? Or course Instead of books is a well worth investment?
My goal is 700 points and the constraint is to spend fewer money for preparation.
Thank you in advance.

Hey Souvik, Congratulations on an incredible score,

I was hoping if you could shed a bit more light on your DS strategy, it looks quite intriguing.

Thanks!
