If working at a constant rate Ahmed takes 1/8 of an hour to complete 6 pages of homework for a statistics company, how long will it take him to do 4 pages of statistics homework?

A. 3 minutes
B. 5 minutes
C. 7.5 minutes
D. 12.5 minutes
E. 15 minutes

Rate = work/time

first findout the rate of ahmed. i.e., 6/15/2 = 12/15 = 4/5

now 4/5 = 4/T -- > T = 5 minutes Ans : B

We are given that Ahmed takes 1/8 of an hour to complete 6 pages of homework. Thus, his rate is 6/(1/8) = 48 pages per hour.

It will take him 4/48 = 1/12 of an hour or (1/12) x 60 = 5 minutes to complete 4 pages of homework.

6 pages =1/8
1 page = 1/(8*6);
4 pages = 4* 1/48 = 1/12 th of an hr= 60/12 = 5 mins.
