Hi guys I have completed my bachelors from Jadavpur University and masters from IIT Kanpur. Currently I working in Bain. My GMAT score is 740. I will be applying for ISB upcoming September. With a strong profile, you can apply anytime after two years experience (and even before through the YLP and the EEO options)

A strong profile comprises good acads (you have an excellent GMAT score), professional impact and leadership potential (you are working with a great company, but I can't speak to your professional experiences, as you have not mentioned anything here), and a well rounded profile (get involved with some extra curricular activities).

You have an excellent pedigree, and that adds to your profile.

If you think you can pull through a strong application for R2 and are open to applying this year, then that works as well. there are some applicants who have got into ISB in R1 with 25+months experience (IB/ consulting backgrounds)

Hello there,

I request you to evaluate my profile and add on if you'd need more information.

I've been working for start-ups for the past two and a half years in the marketing and growth segment. With the company I'm currently working for, I've been based out of Singapore and Jakarta and led projects single-handedly.

I've started my prep for the GMAT and aim to apply for the 1st round in September 2018. When I apply, my total work experience would add up to a little more than 3 years.

CBSE - 9.4 CGPA
+2 (BIEAP) - 89%
Christ Univeristy (BBA - Hons.) - 79%

Attentive to your thoughts. Thanks a lot!

Hi Saarthak

The deferred (EEO) program at ISB is quite competitive in terms of GMAT scores. Given that you have time on your side, would recommend that you increase the score to over 700 and apply in R1 next year than now. That will also hep you tide over the undergrad score to an extent. The rest of your profile is pretty good, so go with a GMAT score to match that.

Hope this helps. Feel free to come back with more queries as needed.

thanks for the prompt reply but I don't think i can do better than 670 or at max 690 as my score ranges in this area only?
So, is there no hope for my selection in ISB?

Thank you.

Understood. However, that may be where you currently are. With more time and focus, you can (in fact, anyone can) raise your score to above 700. In case, though, you do max out at 690 even after your best shot, you can then try to focus on differentiating your application based on your NGO leadership and your law background.
