In descending order of what industry I'm aiming for:
Brand Management
General LDP
General Management
I've been fortunate to be admitted into all the programs I applied to. I'm coming from a non-traditional background so a school that has an established pipeline in my desired industries is nice.
Kelley:
Pros -
Fantastic school for CPG
Facilities seemed top notch & campus was beautiful
Student body seemed helpful
Cons -
Most expensive
Wife isn't thrilled about living in Bloomington but said she will
Student body is helpful but most of the people I met seemed extremely similar with their body language & behavior (could be an effect of business school?)
Midwest career most likely
Wisconsin: (haven't visited campus yet)
Pros -
May be giving me most financial aid (currently qualified for in-state tuition but may be eligible for more)
Again, fantastic school for CPG
A bit smaller class size than Kelley
Alumni network seems great
Madison is a bigger city
Cons -
I haven't visited in person so haven't been able to interact face-to-face with students
Wisconsin winters (Texas boy here)
What happens if CPG/Brand isn't what I end up wanting to do once I get there?
Midwest career most likely
Texas A&M:
Pros-
Aggie Network/Aggie Ring (this is the biggest draw for me right now for Mays)
When wife and I visited, everyone was extremely friendly. During my class visit I loved interacting with the students, very laid back.
Close to home
Accelerated program, done in 18 months
Decent scholarship & eligible for diversity fellowship
Places well with Texas companies & could get into O&G worst case
Cons -
Smaller program than the others (could be a good thing?)
Hardly any placement in CPG (much harder to get foot in the door from there)
Would definitely need a backup option to CPG because of their placement, don't know what yet.
I know each school has something great going for it. I picked these school to apply to because of that. I know if I want to go CPG, the obvious choice is between Kelley & Wisconsin. The Aggie network is huge in Texas (somewhat globally) so that may help make some inroads to positions I seek. Would love to hear from others just to make sure I'm not missing something huge here. Thank you!

Congrats on your admits! I don’t know a whole lot about Texas A&M u fortunately but seems like their reputation is commenting you look up to. I would probably choose between A&M and Kelley since you seem to be more fond of Mays than Madison.
In terms of employability and job opportunities Kelley would be much better than Madison and Mays. Not the worlds best location but very few schools are in great locations. Yale, Wharton, you name it and location in Kelley’s case is impossible to stay so you are guaranteed to leave but obviously you want your wife to be happy and provide support rather than hating every day.
I would say your wife should be a strong driver for your decision. One of the GMAT Club moderators call tended to Chicago booth, chose that school despite his wife’s objections and while he completed his MBA and it definitely was possible and he was very happy with his education, the situation at home was different and it was a challenging two years. Actually it was more than two years and it took a number of years for things to settle down. Your wife will support you at home when you will be completely wiped out and you’ll need her to be a strong force behind you rather than somebody pushing against you or holding your choice against you. You probably know how that works but I just wanted to emphasize it. You don’t want to make a decision by yourself and also probably not right to give that option fully to your wife but I would give her these pros and cons that you’ve laid out here and strongly ask for her opinion and see what things are more important for her. She may have concerns you and I have not envisioned and some of her concerns may be a very relevant while others may be very superficial and would be easy to address....
Something I would suggest considering and doing is understanding how many other students are married and attending the school with their partners. You don’t want to be in a small program where there are no other married folks and your wife is stuck there without any social life.
In general, the higher rated school would provide you with the most opportunities, challenge, and growth. The more selective the program, the stronger your classmates, professors, and they’ll on the network loyalty.
PS. Try to be very objective in your talk with your spouse. I know it’s hard with some of these decisions and choices.
