Hi Harsh,

you have scored Q40 V32.
It is easier to improve Q score in comparison to V score. you can raise your Q score to 48-50

Few tips:

Read OG book quant concept.
Manhattan quant book . specially their advance section.
Read GMATCLUB quant book freely available.

Then use GMAT CLUB quant cats. these are the best resource to improve quant score to 50. I have raised my q score to 50 using these tests only.
Thanks

You should focus on Math. You should practice questions from GMAT CLUB, try to avoid silly mistakes and control your time during the exam. In verbal focus on improve your stamina and read carefully in CR and RC, that can give you extra points.

Good luck dude.

Hi harshf15,

The end of June is less than 3 weeks away, so if you're planning to take your GMAT at some point during this month, then you don't have much potential study time remaining. Raising your score 70 points in under 3 weeks might be too challenging of a goal to be considered realistic. By extension, you would have a much better chance of scoring 650+ if you could push back your Test Date and study longer.

All of that having been said, before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
4) Did you take the FULL CAT each time (with the Essay and IR sections)?

Goals:
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi,

Studies:
1. I have been studying for the Gmat for over a month.
2. I use the Manhattan SC strategy guide, Kaplan Math workbook the OG and for practice questions NOVA.
3. The first time I gave a Princeton cat in which i got Q 35 V 22 Total of 500. After I gave the Manhattan CATS i have given two of those and got a score of 590 and 570 respectively. My quant score is stuck in the 40 mark.
4. No I have not given with essay and IR. As i wanted to work on the fundamental score first and then work on IR.

5. I plan to apply this September for the intake of 2018.
6. UCLA,HEC Paris, Rotman at least FT top 50.

Thanks looking forward for your insights.

Hi harshf15,

Test Day is a rather specific 'event' - the details are specific and they matter, so you have to train as best as you can for all of them. The more realistic you can make your CATs, the more likely the score results are to be accurate. The more you deviate, the more "inflated" your practice scores can become - and that's likely what happened here. By skipping the Essay and IR sections, you took shorter, easier Exams that required less effort and energy - and that means that your practice CAT scores are likely not completely accurate. In addition, if you did anything else that would be considered unrealistic (such as taking the CATs at home or taking them at a different time of day from when you'll take the Official GMAT), then your scores could be further 'off.'

Since we don't really know your current 'ability level' right now, I strongly recommend that you take one of the Official GMAT CATs and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here and we can discuss how best to proceed. Considering your score goal, you will likely need MORE time than you have allotted. This is meant to say that you should consider pushing back your Test Date.

Hey!

I have take a couple of Manhattan CATS and my average score is around 580. With Q at 40 and verbal 32. I plan to give the GMAT final exam by the end of the month.
And need to score above 650 to have a shot at a good college, as the deadlines are also approaching. I would appreciate if you guys can share some study plan to work on.
:?

Hi

it is better to start with taking a CAT exam know starting point 3 month is pretty enough time so you can start with Best comprehensive material

1. Manhattan GMAT Quant Guides
2. Manhattan GMAT Verbal guides
or
Aristotle Verbal Guide
for CR critical reasoning bible is best book with 300+ pages of comprehensive Data

Start with quant, learn the concepts tested on GMAT After learning, practice your learned section with times practice You can also take quizzes to meet the pace of GMAT
Learn concepts and practice and same with the verbal when completed all the concepts learning and handsome practice Take full lenght CATs, know your estimated score

Analyze the result with Correct/incorrect questions, pacing analysis trace your mistakes and learn from them, make an error log to know your mistakes in the previously attempted questions

Best CATs

1. Official GMAC (50+50$)
2. Manhattan GMAT (49$)
3. GMAT Club Quant CATs (80$)
4. Veritas CATs (49$ but you can buy at 15-20$ During sale period)

Good Luck
Cheers :)

With my own experience, I feel that the easiest thing which you can do right now which will help you maximize your score is to review the answers of each question you did wrong and see if you didnt knew the concept or if there was some challenge with the application.

Error log, GMAT Prep material will help you fine tune your preparation once you reach to the level of 650+ but at this point of time, your concepts for all topics should be very clear. Go through GMAT Club quizes and CATs as they are a great repository and have fantastic explanation to each problem as well.
