Thank you once again for the kind words, adkikani! You're making me blush.
I'm so happy to hear that this was useful. I feel like CR and RC are tricky in a webinar format, because everybody finds unique and different ways to make mistakes, and I can only guess at the types of mistakes that any particular viewer is making. I'm sure that some viewers will think that the webinar was a waste of an hour, and others will hopefully love it.
And yes, I really want to do some webinars on RC too, very much in the same spirit as today's. We're going to take December off from webinars in honor of both the holidays and

Hi GMATNinja,
Thanks for such an awesome session.
I have some confusions regarding why A & why not B for the last question from the session.
Building a space station, in which astronauts would live for a considerable time, is essential even if the space station project were to contribute no new knowledge about space or Earth that could not otherwise be obtained. For future missions to explore Mars, we will need the medical knowledge that the space station project will give us about the limits human capacities to live in spacecraft for an extended time.
The argument makes the assumption that
(A) the exploration of Mars will be carried out by people travelling in spacecraft and not by robots alone.
(B) the capacities of astronauts are typical of those of ordinary human beings.
The argument says "Building a space station, in which astronauts would live for a considerable time, is essential even if the space station project were to contribute no new knowledge about space or Earth that could not otherwise be obtained." This is a generic conclusion not concerning Mars. So we take a look at A, it could be possible that we use only robots for Mars exploration. For other space exploration programs with Astronauts, we still need medical knowledge. Argument still works.
For B, what if astronauts have some special capabilities (due to their training etc) which are not there in ordinary human beings. Will collecting medical info about them help?

OK, here's the quick preview of this Wednesday's YouTube LIVE webinar! You could think of last Wednesday's session as Critical Reasoning 101, explained through the lens of strengthen, weaken, and assumption questions. This week's session will be dedicated to funny cousins of strengthen, weaken, and assumption questions: "evaluate the argument" and "fill in the blank" and a couple of other related oddballs. The baseline techniques are very much the same, but the questions look different. (And adkikani, I'm planning to discuss the capuchin monkey question in this Wednesday's webinar. It fits nicely with the theme.)
I'm still arguing with myself about which examples to use, but as soon as GMAT Ninja and I finish fighting with each other, I'll post the questions on this thread.
And ManishKM1, both questions you posted deserve some attention! They're both a little bit difficult, though, and I don't think they're the easiest examples for webinars that are meant to cover some basic principles. We covered the Smithtown one in a QOTD: https://gmatclub.com/forum/qotd-smithto ... 39409.html. And I'll make sure that our pal Mayor Delmont makes an appearance in next week's QOTD. If our explanations on the QOTD threads don't clear up your doubts, feel free to ask follow-ups directly on those threads, and we'll take a look.
Oh, and we'll also publish a full solution to the space station question in Thursday's QOTD, so keep an eye out for that one, too.
