I will be joining Queens MBA class starting Jan 2017.I had applied towards the end of last year but could not get a seat last year as the class was full.So I was offered a seat for this 2017 Jan. Great to see an active forum for this. If there is a google group created for next years class admits, please add me in it.

HI Sagarika,
My Name is Bharadwaj and i am joining Queens MBA class starting Jan 2017. We have created a whatsapp group of all the students who have received admits and paid their deposits. email me your number on sundaresa87@gmail.com . Will be happy to add you to that group.
As far as i know there are 6 ppl from India who have received admits and have decided to join Queens.
Hi folk Applied for the Queen's Mfin. I love the programme. Meets my need. Any thought on what to expect in the interview and what the program looks like. I guess it is as competitive as the MBA but different in content. Any thought on what to expect?
I have been wait listed for the Jan'17 intake. It would be great if all the people who have been kept on hold collaborate and keep each other informed; That way we can all benefit in analyzing our chances of getting in. Kindly let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for the information. Is 1 year work permit enough time to get or apply for PR visa. ? Also is 1 year enough time to get a good job in Canada post mba. My question s may be a little silly. Sorry I have no idea
Guys one thing about the pgwp. Some students from 2015 batch got 1 yr permits and some got 3 yrs. We had an info session with an immigration lawyer from queens and essentially were told it's based on the case officer. Essentially this means if you get lucky then you get lucky! Don't sweat a lot though about the work permits as its relatively easy to get them extended after a yr should you need to. PR can also be applied after you graduate or even when you are in school provided you have sufficient points. So to summarize immigration isn't an issue and that shouldn't stop you from selecting queens over a 2 yr program. As I said before though if you want to move or switch fields then a 2 yr is a better fit. 1 yr program doesn't let you do an internship and your non Canadian experience isn't valued here especially if it's not from a big brand company. Choose wisely. Queens is a great program but there are a few issues such as location, no summer internship and not many alumni in the finance field who are queens mbas. Now queens has a lot of people in finance who did their bachelors from queens but very few from Mba. Queens bachelors is a much more selective program whereas the mba isn't really at par with Rotman if you are looking at finance as an option.

Hi Parth, Even I am facing the same dilemma. I have been waitlisted for Jan 17 intake. I have talked to few people and they mentioned this year wait-list for international student is pretty long. Let me know if you get some more info on this.

Hi, I too am in the same boat! Any idea of when they would inform us of the outcome?
Guys, I know a lot of you have been waitlisted but here is the short answer and have some queries. Unless someone drops out or you improve your GMAT score dramatically and bring it up to 720+ you will not be lifted from the waitlist. the waitlist means the current batch is full atleast for international students. Be mindful of that and apply to other schools also. If you dont retake and improve your gmat significantly you most likely wont be getting in.
Waitlisted :/ .What are the chances for this year ? how big is the waitlist pile ?

My application advisor told me to forward the waitlist offer letter by Sep 12. No news about how many waitlisted candidate they have ? Any further info on your side?
Not sure if anyone still reads this thread, but I just finished my interview yesterday and received an acceptance today. If anyone has questions on the application/interview process, please let me know.

Congrats SirJohn. If you dont mind can you tell me are you an international applicant? I think they had a long list of waitlist for the program. Thanks
My GMAT score was 710. I interviewed on a Wednesday and they gave me the offer the next day.
From my understanding, if you are an international applicant, you'll need a 700+ to get in at this point. If you're a domestic student, apply right away since the remaining spots left are reserved for mostly domestic students.
I actually just rejected my offer last week so whoever was on the waiting list that just got in - you're welcome
