Tough to speak for anyone else but myself, but I believe it depends on your schedule and ability to dedicate time to self study outside of tutoring. I had a really busy one - was only able to study on the weekends pretty much. I have spent about 5 months working with Mitch, that is about 40 hrs. I realize it is a lot and can get pretty expensive. I think someone who is able to spend more time on self study can get similar results from fewer hours, but I think 20 is a minimum. Keep in mind that the reason I was able to work with Mitch for that long is because he was a much better value proposition than a lot of other services out there such a Manhattan Prep. I tried their private tutoring as well and moved on.

Thanks! It can definitely vary just based on your description - you probably a bit of an edge case with being unable to study during the week - that's tough to be completely out of for a week and then going back on the weekend. Big kudos and props on finding a solution though and figuring out how to do it despite the cost obstacle!
