Would you be interested in reading School visit/trip reports?

We are considering choosing and tasking a number of people to visit top 20 schools and post their impressions, trip reports, experience, etc. I am wondering if this is something many people will find useful. If yes, GMAT Club then will sponsor some folks to make the trips and visits and we'll compensate for some of the expenses to this type of thing.

Questions for you - will it be useful reading trip reports?
If yes, what would you like to see in them? What info would you want to know/find out?
If you want pics/other media, what do you want to see?
Great idea- I think it is helpful to know about the most active clubs (sometimes hard to discern on the website), what are some of the best surprises at the school, some examples of faculty/student engagement outside of class, recruiting tips and trends, best "events" to build community, pictures of where students go outside of class and maybe tips on where they live/play/study and also pictures of unique centers or labs or anything else that would add to experiential learning. Happy to be a part of the initiative.

If yes, what would you like to see in them? What info would you want to know/find out?

These are the majority of things that I am looking for when planning my visits this fall.

How is the environment in the classroom, out of it? Do students go their separate ways immediately after class, or do they congregate/socialize in a central place?
What clubs are prominent? What percentage of students are involved? What does it take to start a new one?
Where do most students live, how is parking/public transportation?
How easy is it to cross register for electives(i.e. a comp science course for analytics or an industrial engineering course for operations)? Most schools list "other electives with approval" but I'm sure the ease of this varies quite a bit.
What are the major on campus recruiting companies/events? Employment reports are a great resource, but it can be hard to decipher the main players.
How has the program evolved over the last few years, and what is expected over the next few?

It will be very helpful for people who cannot visit the city for various reasons.

Here are some additional questions that are important for people who want to move in with family:

Logistics
the real story on rigour, family life, schools nearby for kids, etc.
As these questions aren't really answered on their websites,
If the college in question is in another country, its all the more difficult to get the info we seek.

Thanks, great initiative!

This seems like an excellent initiative. These reports would be highly beneficial for aspiring candidates. And first hand experience of those sailing in the same boat is always appreciated.
What could be more interesting is if there was someway for those who get to be a part of this program be able to connect live with other members of the forum interested in seeking information or details about the schools.

I am hoping to get some of the folks who are active in the discussions such as those who are ThreadMasters to visit schools and write some school trip report debriefs.

This is a great idea. Prospective candidates visit schools all the time. The real question is how do you incentivize members to post their school visit experience on the forum so others can also learn from them. To get a better idea about the school, you want to have as many reports from different people as possible. Although it may be a good idea to send people to visit school on the behalf of gmatclub, the sample size may be limited because their perspectives are different from others and also the people with whom they interact are different. Perhaps, the school visit trip report can incentivize others to also share their experience.
