which resource would be the best for someone just starting with the Verbal preparation?

Hi,
I would suggest to go for Aristotle books. I have been using those and have seen improvements in my verbal skills.
Aristotle RC grail, CR Grail and SC grail (along with Manhattan prep SC guide) are the best books for non natives. And not to forget Ready4GMAT mobile app. Build your concepts first and then you can practice the GMAT OG questions and GMATPrep.
I am going to write a review about these products soon
Thanks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi SimranHemdev,

For quants practice from gmat club . It would be better if you buy 114$ pack because the quants are really tough.
For Verbal practice 404 from mba.com .

Kudos please

The general strategy used on SC questions, it to look for a 2/3 split and proceed accordingly.
In some questions, it is very difficult to find a 2/3 split.
My general approach is such a case is to read all the options, understand the options and proceed accordingly.
However, this is consuming considerable time.
In addition to this, I am unable to spot an error at the first instance I read the question.

Can experts please suggest solution?

Hey guys so I just started practising from scholarium on e-gmat and my accuracy has hit really low , the main issue being timing so far doing all the concepts in egmat and practise quizzes I didn’t time myself as it was suggested to focus on accuracy first and took my own sweet time to do the og questions and concept practise questions then yesterday I started scholaranium and did 15 questions with only 6correct and I am scared to attempt more ,I have spent two weeks studying concepts and feeling lost if I still lack conceptual knowledge or is it the timing part which is adding stress , I have >80% in all concept files and practises for egmat sentence correction

Please suggest the outlook and if my accuracy will improve as of now am feeling too scared to even attempt

I found Manhattan guides among the most complete. The books for preparing Verbal take quite some time though.

Thanks for this amazing list. I was wondering if there is a good resource for all marker words for dependent clauses?

Hi

Can someone please tell me if this sentence is correct or not, "I like to eat, dance and swim."

I think it is not parallel and should be "I like to eat, to dance and to swim." according to the rules but this sentence sounds so awkward.

Thanks!

My biggest weakness is sentence correction. Any plan I can follow to improve? I would be grateful. I'm usually lost between the last 2 answers 1 wrong and the right one so I'm almost there, What's the best way to get to the highest level?

The distance between the two runners, which is over 50 meters, cannot be made up with only three laps to go in the race.

1.The distance between the two runners, which is over 50 meters.
2.The distance between the two runners, who is over 50 meters.
3.The distance between the two runners, whom is over 50 meters.
4.The distance between the two runners, that is over 50 meters.
5.The distance between the two runners, whoever is over 50 meters.

Why the answer is A and not D.
Which refers to the noun just before the comma.

Please clarify!

The placement of the comma before 'that' is wrong. Assuming that there wasn't a comma, even then the sentence would be an incomplete statement.

Hello all -
I was looking for the veritas prep video series (SC specifically) - did anyone happen to make a copy before they were made private on youtube?

Hi. I'm from Brazil thus Portuguese speaker and using magoosh to study for GMAT. How would you suggest a non english speaker to approach the foundational content of verbal? On a mock test I got 40% on SC and the Magoosh lessons go through the content without specific grammar exercies, only the SC questions. I'm in doubt between two options:

A) investing in more school-like study of grammar, and I'd most likely do it through manhatam prep foundational book. Most likely 4-8 hours total
B) Focusing on SC questions and studying the grammar through reviewing missed questions

Thanks. Best
