Hi gqlady20,

I'm sorry to hear that your classroom experience was so problematic. Have you contacted ManhattanPrep about this instructor? - My guess is that they would prefer to know if one of their employees was behaving unprofessionally.

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your score results show that you essentially performed the same each time (+/- a few points). By extension, this means that 'your way' of approaching the Exam will likely continue to earn you a score in the mid-to-high 500s. Unfortunately, trying to raise that score to a 700+ in just a month is probably not realistic. To hit that score, you'll need to make some significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections - and that will likely take at least 2 months of consistent, guided study. That having been said, the GMAT is the same consistent, predictable Exam that it's always been, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

1) How many hours do you think you can spend studying each week going forward?

I work 9-5, could probably study around 2-3hours every weekday and around 10-12 hours in total over the weekend.

Hi gqlady20,

It sounds like you can put in a sizable number of study hours in each week, which is good. Now you just need to learn/practice the proper Tactics, which will likely require that you invest in some new materials. That having been said, if you're not planning to apply to Business School until Round 2, then you have several months of potential study time at your disposal. Are you flexible enough to push back your planned Test Date?

Hi Rich,

I don't mind pushing it back. The only deadline that have in November is round 2 NYU, the rest are January. I could take it Mid or late October if necessary. What other test material do you recommend? I have all of the Manhattan Prep material, OG 2016, and GMAT Prep. I also downloaded/printed out the GMAT Club Math book. Thanks!

Hi gqlady20,

You've listed out a series of study resources that you've already used, so continuing to work through those same resources in the same ways as before is not likely to be the solution to your situation. Most GMAT Companies offer some type of free materials (practice problems, Trial Accounts, videos, etc.) that you can use to 'test out' a product before you buy it. We have a variety of those resources at out site (www.empowergmat.com). I suggest that you take advantage of all of them then choose the one that best matches your personality, timeline and budget.

Based on everything that you’ve described, I think that you would find the EMPOWERgmat Total Score Booster to be quite helpful. Most of our clients complete that Study Plan in under 2 months, so the time commitment would likely fit your schedule perfectly.

If you have any additional questions, then you can feel free to contact me directly.

What I have seen is that no matter how many concept you know about math you still need a strategy to attack the questions, for that you must know
1) Ballparking (really helpful in geometry questions)
2)Plugging in (when you see a variable in answers choice)
3)DS split (y/n questions)
4)Approximation (^2 ^3 pie)

I am one month into my Gmat preparation and my scores have already increased from Q34 to Q44

Hi gqlady20,

The best combination to achieve +700 is V35 and Q49.
It's easily to get stuck in the same score, not improving at all if you study GMAT math with the conventional method. In fact, GMAT Math with a logic test and it is required to study GMAT using the logic. From our course, we introduce the logic to tackle GMAT Math, Variable approach for DS and IVY approach for PS. With our unique approaches, you can solve DS questions 100% with Variable approach and 30-40% of PS questions with IVY approach. Also, you can significantly save time, and will have 10 minutes to spare on exam. For instance, with our approaches, you can solve questions that normally take 4 minutes in 1 minutes and 30 seconds, and 2-minute question in 30 seconds.

Since your current official score is 32, we recommend for you to study at least 2-3 months to hit 49. Regardless, if you're well dedicated studying, you can surely improve your score until your exam.

If you would like to try our approaches, Please try Trial Pack (4 hour lesson) that reveal our secret approaches of DS+PS core theory that you have never seen. You can test whether you like them or not before you enroll.

Hey gqlady20,

The fact that you have studied for so long, and haven't seen improvements in your scores might indicate a problem with your study habits.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on quality over quantity.

Doing hundreds of hundreds of more questions without really understanding the concepts or the booby traps that you’re falling into will not necessarily get you where you want to be.

Try going back to previous questions and seeing if you can answer them with ease. The more you can answer correctly, the more likely it is that you understand the material.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on one particular subsection for multiple consecutive days before moving onto the next. You can see this in our study plan where we recommend 5 days on nothing but SC -- before moving onto CR and then RC.

Here is a customized 2-3 month study plan that can help boost your score: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... study-plan

Here is a sample SC video to help you start your journey: https://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... ythons.mp4
