I took the official gmat mock and got a 660 Q35 V46. I need a 720. How can I improve? My exam is in two weeks

Posted from my mobile device
The two weeks is not enough time, so it is better to stick with exercising only official questions. You can use the following link to practice all official questions.

All the best...

Do you have any specific question?

Hi Srush,

First of all, congratulations on getting a V46. An improvement is always possible if you concentrate on the right parameters. Having said that, I doubt if two weeks would be really enough to improve your Quant score. Even if you complete learning the concepts, practicing questions and taking mocks would need a little more time. Two weeks might be sufficient if you put considerable amount of effort but again I would need more details to be sure of that.

How to improve your Quant?

The good things about GMAT quant is it tests only specific types of questions from each topic. So, if you learn the right methodology to solve those questions types, then you are likely to score well on Quant. Moreover, to get to a 720, you don't have to improve your Quant score considerably because your Verbal score is really high. So, if you focus on learning the concepts and methodology, then you should be good enough to score well on Quant.

What should be the plan?

  • First identify the weaker areas
  • Learn the concepts if necessary of those weaker topics
  • Learn the right methodology to solve questions from each topic
  • Take sectional quiz of each topic and make sure to apply the methodology while solving
  • Make sure you move to the next topic only if you get at least 80% accuracy

Repeat the same for all the topics and once you finish all the topics, start taking mocks. If you are satisfied with the score, then you are good to take the test. Having said that, ask yourself if you can finish the above steps in two weeks. If yes, then well and good. If not, then I would recommend you to reschedule your test to a further date because there's no point in taking the test when you are not 100% confident. It would only result in wastage of time, money and effort.

I can help you with making a more specific plan but I would need more details from you. This way we can decide whether you can complete the process in two weeks or you need more time. I would recommend you to connect over a call with me to discuss the same. I have helped many students improve their score considerably within a short span. So, helping you shouldn't be a problem.
