Then came Question 16, the villain of my story. It was a work problem which I'm sure I would have solved easily on any other day. However, today was a different day. It was a question where I could not assume numbers for variables, and it had to be solved. So, being a quant expert, I started scribbling on my writing sheet. I tried, came to a final answer, but none of the answers were even close. I tried again, in vain. I lost over 12 minutes of my time, and the time advantage, in the question which I finally had to mark by guessing.
This one killed you for sure, but you should not be disappointed. You should take it again as you are confident about your mock score.
If you stuck with a quant question, you should try to solve it by different method. If you don't change the way of solving the question (specially quant question) you're probably wasting your time, and this will lead you a bad score.

Hi coward4gmat,

710 is still a very nice GMAT score, so you should be proud of what you accomplished. If you do decide to retake the GMAT, feel free to reach out, and i’d be happy to help.

I took the GMAT Online exam today and need some clarification on the Verbal Section.

The most unusual I saw in the test was that out of the first 15 Verbal Questions, there were around 10-11 RC questions(Three passages to be precise).

This is not it, the biggest unusual thing I found is yet to come.

I faced roughly 4-5 Bold Faced questions, a question type I had hardly encountered before and one I am particularly scared of.

How should I interpret this?

Hi Shivam,

4-5 bold faced questions is slightly confusing considering CR forms around 10-11 questions in total. However, even I got 2 bold faced questions in my exam yesterday (not Online though), and I'm extremely poor at those.

Three passages in first 15 questions is not so surprising as I'd seen the same pattern in one of my mocks (Princeton Review, I suppose). I actually prefer it that way because all the time consuming task is done right in the beginning and you can manage the rest of the time well.

Would be happy to know your score and feedback on GMAT online.
