Hi Folks. Hope you all are doing good.

I applied at UIUC in Round 1, however my TOEFL Scores reached University after the deadline. Additionally, the ADCOM requested additional official degree certificate after submission of my application.

I am wondering whether my application will be considered for Round 2 or Round 1. So far, I haven't got any interview invite from UIUC.

Any clue ?

Well, frankly speaking, you should get in touch with the admissions committee through mail or phone. I too was asked to submit my degree certificate post R1 deadline, so I can say because of degree certi, u wnt be pushed to R2. However, I am not sure about TOFEL.

btw, you dint find them responsive? Just asking, as I never communicated with the School throughout the process other than sending my degree certificate (soft copy scan). I was asked to do so at the end of my interview in Mumbai last month.

My concern is that I was going through the forum and a person has posted that in one of the online presentations UIUC has communicated that the seats for the Indian candidates have been filled and in case any Indian candidate is planning to apply in R2, then he/she should ask the adcom before applying.
Did anyone else encountered the same thing?

- The adcom said the seats fill up during R1.
- R1 final decision date is Jan 5 next month.
- If you turned in your application on time, supporting docs like scores etc won't prevent the adcom from considering you for R1.
- Very important: Write the adcom now, today, asking if your file is complete. If something is missing, they will tell you. Even if nothing is missing, it is good to check with them. Checking with them does not impact your file in any way. Do it now.
- Last point. Interview invites, final decisions, they are all staggered, they don't happen during the same week for everyone. I think the adcom looks at files in batches. So don't lose hope.

Well I haven't applied yet, I am planning to apply for R2. Considering your view, I guess I should apply soon and wait if I can get the interview call.
I have sent an email to Adcom and have asked about the same thing. Let's see what they have to say.
Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that something positive comes out.

-It's good to ask them to see if the seats are full. But if i were you, i wouldn't ask them. I would turn in my file now. This is because, it is hard for the adcom to tell you right now that the seats are filled, don't apply. All the people that were admitted, not all will accept the offer of admission, until the deposit deadline of March 2. The numbers become clear then. Surely, March 2 is a light year away. Please, turn in your application now.
