Hello All,
I have another doubt regarding proof of funding document. In the application it is asked to provide a bank statement showing a balance which will suffice atleast for the first year's expenses. Is it required at the time of applying or is it ok to upload after admission is granted?

In my old life, i used to be an international student here in America, so i'm familiar with that process. In order for the I-20 to be processed (a document you will take to the US embassy and get your sweet F1 visa), the university of illinois is required to prove that you are able to sustain yourself once you arrive in the US. The proof is required by the SEVIS people, part of the US customs, they are the ones who issue the 1-20 to the university, which then issues it to you.
The point is that proof of finances is one of the last parts you need to do, after you have been admitted. The schools you are applying to, shouldn't ask you for proof of finances at this stage. Even if they ask for it, they will still review your application without it. This is because, your burden of proof might change after you get admitted, say with a huge scholarship etc.

Thank you very much for your answer. My doubt arises because they have the option to upload the proof of funding document in the online application. If we dont upload it now, will we have a chance to upload the document at a later date?
