So I did see a few others have shared similar experiences as mine while working with Rishabh Gupta sir from GyanOne. I will give you an honest review of my experience so that you can make an informed decision.
Summary: Don't subscribe to his service if you have decent writing skills or know how to use Chat GPT prompts. It is not worth paying ~1L/school just to write applications (interview/mock prep is extra). There are more economical options out there, some of which offer fee refunds in case you don't get an interview invitation. Research well before investing your hard earned money. My account name is not my real name but for personal privacy just in case ppl feel this is a fake name, I choose to keep it this way. Personally, I should have a decent profile, reputed college degrees recognized globally, a few national and international level accolades/awards, Fortune 50 firm decent duration of work Exp. with awards and timely promotions, and 6+ months of a gap due to personal and health issues.
I had subscribed to his services in 2023 for 2024-26 cycle for LBS (dream), Oxford Said (realistic) and Tepper (somewhere in between). I have admits from Fuqua, ND Mendoza (~75% scholarship), Ivey and Rotman. All the admits I have gotten based on my own applications and these are the only colleges that I had applied for (yes its a 100% hit rate). Regarding the 3 that I worked with Rishabh sir I didn't get an interview invite.
Now I am told that the previous cycle was hardest for Indians, or that my gap is the reason I didn't make it the 2/3 schools from my list that I otherwise could have made it to.
Now I wont dwell on the reasons given to me because that doesn't matter now. Now to the main part, the experience working with sir:
CONS1) I had to follow up constantly and add pressure with him because of approaching deadlines versus seeing no progress on the apps/ drafts that I had written for these schools.
2) I had to write my LBS application myself, which is 1 of the longest apps and I particularly selected this app to seek help on. Here sir went through and said most of the content was good some minor tweaks were made.
3) You will have to do 90% of the heavy lifting and write most of your apps and share drafts with him; otherwise, you will be left with a sub-par draft which may not sound like you, be in-line with your profile or seem straight out of a GPT. The dedicated focus or attention will not be there for each student.
4) Now while I say the above, it may also depend on sir's perception of whether you can do the heavy lifting or you will wait till last minute to submit whatever you get. So this may be subjective but you know what my experience has been like
5) You wont get any sample essays that you can refer to while writing your story. Though for the letter of recommendation, you can get samples from him, in case you need to prepare drafts for your recommenders to reference while writing their own LORs for colleges.
PROS1) He has been in the industry for long so he knows which company HR name can you quote or which Alumni name can you add for each college. Sitting on LinkedIn for a few days can give you this expertise, it did for me and I picked up this skill for my other apps
2) He has a few successful students as well. I am sure he must be doing some things right as well or their GMAT scores + profiles may be stellar and needs some guidance only. So he can give you names of his past students whom you can reach out to on LinkedIn. In general, MBA students are friendly in most colleges so you can do this on your own as well, just find ppl who are active on the websites or reach out to adcoms (yes I did this too and it saves a lot of time to find relevant profiles)
Conclusion: There are many useful and free resources guiding people on applications (Samples essays by Atul Khatri ji, I did read and refer to them for guidance and interview tips from Kartik from Business Conquerors)P.S. Choose what you have to and what suits you best but remember all situations are unique just as all individuals are, but I hope my 2 cents and honest experience help you make a wiser decision.
