Urgent
Hi guys just wanted to ask about funding. Like I have accounted for total i20 CoA - 50:50 debt and savings.

But people say to account 1.5x of i20 amount.

Can you please tell me what should be my final response to this. What did you guys responded & structured?

This is not a hard and fast rule. As per i20, one needs to show only 1 year cost. But, it’s also assumed that you can show second year’s finances when asked. So, you should have total 2X of your i20 funds, both account balance and savings combined. That also includes loans.

We had an info session yesterday in which the school's international student office personnel said "you can submit expedite request, but usually they reject if it's not <= 30 days from school start date (orientation date)."

But once again, it's really vague and there's no distinct set of rules that apply, it rly just depends.

Official days is 60 days. Consultants say 45 days.

There are people in this group who has got expedited request approved whose program start date was close to 45days!

Ahh sweet, that's good! I thought 30 days was far too short

It's recommended to enter the US with a passport with atleast 6 months of validity (till expiry)!

Once you get here, it's a pretty simple process to get a new passport from a local Indian embassy.

+ get the updated passport, apply for emergency renewal
Reason:
The Visa expiry’s date won’t exceed your passport expiration date. So, you may be given shorter visa( <5yrs) and you may require extension!
