What percent of 3x is 6y if x = 4y?

(A) 50%
(B) 40%
(C) 30%
(D) 20%
(E) 18%

Let the unknown number be Z.

Z % of 3x is 6y => \(\frac{Z}{100}\) * 3x = 6y

Z = \(\frac{6y *100}{3x}\)

Given; x = 4y

Z = \(\frac{6y*100}{3*4y}\) = 50%

Required percentage will be 6y/3x * 100 = 200y/x
We just need the ratio y/x to solve this

Given x=4y or y/x = 1/4

So required percentage = 200 * 1/4 = 50%
Hence A

What percent of 3x is 6y if x = 4y?

(A) 50%
(B) 40%
(C) 30%
(D) 20%
(E) 18%

We are given that x = 4y and need to determine 6y as a percent of 3x.

Thus:

6y/3x * 100 = ?

2y/x * 100 = ?

Since x = 4y, we can substitute 4y for x in our expression and we have:

2y/4y * 100 = 1/2 * 100 = 50%
