So I've seen some discussion that the 2 free official GMAT Prep exams are not to be wasted on the beginning stages of studying, which I completely get, but then what should you use towards the beginning, and when should you use the GMAT Prep?
I've done about ~2 weeks of just answering questions from the
OG and doing
Magoosh flashcards each weekday, so I'm still not well versed in everything. Before those 2 weeks I read the reviews on the different sections in the
OG and took decent notes on everything, even really obvious stuff, and have been reviewing those notes too so I hopefully won't forget anything. I only took the
OG diagnostic exam, which just rates you mostly as above/below average without a "score". I kind of want to take a practice exam within the next week or so just to know what my "score" would be right now and if I need to shift my focus. For ex. on the SAT/ACT I did great on the verbal parts but I've been out of practice and only did "average" on the
OG Diagnostic, but I've missed like 2/70 verbal questions so far. I know the practice in the
OG has the easiest in the front but I kinda wanna know if when reviewing I brushed up on verbal enough to shift my focus more to quant or basically just how to divvy up my time.
So if it isn't the right time to take a GMAT Prep what would you suggest? The only thing I purchased was the
OG 17, but I bookmarked a post from this site with a list of free CATs. My only question, if y'all suggest those instead, is what do I do for AWA and IR as I'd want to simulate the mental fatigue & breaks when I take this exam and do more than just the verbal and quant (the AWA score does matter for the programs I'm looking at so I want to practice that as well). I guess I could pick an AWA prompt from the
OG and do the
OG IR online, but do you think that's too disjointed for an accurate practice exam?
Thanks y'all!
